Someone needs to just rip off Pokémon, do it better, and make it multiplat. Tem Tem was a good attempt, but the art style was very ugly, and the world felt too small.

One company I think could really pull off a mainstream Pokémon rip off is Mihoyo.

@blahmoomoo: I feel like history's destined to repeat itself over and over with Giant Bomb. As long as they are owned by corporate companies, the staff will never have true freedom, and in a couple of years, this current lot will leave and go independent, and a new lot will come in, and the cycle will just keep repeating. It makes it hard as a fan to invest time in to it, because you never know what's going to happen next; who's going to get a paycut and feel compelled to leave, etc. This site has been bought several times now (Whiskey, Cbsi, Cnet, Red Ventures, Fandom, etc), and each time we hear the same thing about positive incoming changes, etc, but it never lasts.

Also the worst thing is, it seems like these companies don't actually care about buying Giant Bomb, and that Giant Bomb is just the little freebie that came with what they really paid for, which is GameSpot, GameFaqs, Metacritic and the other sites.

Fandom has just bought Giant Bomb (and other RV companies) for $55 million?! What does this mean for GB? Did everyone get a big paycheck, are job's safe?

@shtinky: Or a 199 switch lite.

That doesn't do cloud streaming, or play the latest AAA games, though. If you want the same thing this does, for $50 more, a Steam Deck would be better.

It costs $350, and is just a streaming / Android device? Why would anyone buy that over a $399 Steam Deck?

Putting a paywall behind all the old content featuring Jeff, Ryan, Vinny, Alex, Brad, etc, from the early days is just wrong, imo.That content should be free for anyone, who wishes to come back and reminisce from time to time. That content has nothing to do with the new content being produced, so just make it free for all.
