@infantpipoc: MGS1 definitely is a brilliant, focused entry. I have trouble going back to 1-2 myself, but on the initial experience, it’s especially easy to look past its age and enjoy how amazing it is. Totally with you on the Kojima worship being out of control sometimes and I think the games where he goes most off the rails definitely have their flaws and it has to be taken in a balanced way.
@splitterguy: Wild card is definitely the best way to describe it. To me it still feels like Metal Gear, but it takes it to a whole other kind of game. Unfortunately, it’s not going to be for everyone and not everyone can overlook its unfinished elements, but I still think it’s brilliant.
@robertforster: Totally don’t blame anyone for this opinion, since it’s so different. It’s just my experience that as much as I totally loved the other games, MGSV is the one I had the most fun playing and the one I could replay at any time. I’m in a similar position on Breath of the Wild, I loved Zelda for my whole life up until that so I totally respect and understand that some people just aren’t into it for how much it changes and drops key elements of the series, but for me these games elevate the series they’re in to a new level of fun.
