This has been an issue for me for a few weeks. Friday Night Forking episodes 2 and 3 from this season are showing as zero length. The VMDT with Vinny never appeared in the video feed (on my Apple TV, though I could see it on the site). Unable to start the PSVR2 video today.

The Apple TV apps are basically useless at this point, unfortunately. If all I can watch it live stuff on Twitch, my premium membership seems superfluous. Real shame

This site has always run ads for non-premium members. Affiliate links don't cost you anything, and can help support the site you're clearly passionate about.

If seeing affiliate links mean you can't trust the staff to do their thing, that's your call.

Jeff G seems to be thriving at the moment. It sounds like you're more upset about this than he probably would be.

My experience from working in IT (over a decade at this point) is that UPS batteries often kick the bucket much sooner than you'd expect, depending on the power situation at your place and the brand of UPS.

If it is just surges/dirty power that you're worried about, a solid (not super-cheap) surge protector might be enough for you.

If you are looking to keep your PC running in the event of an outage, a UPS isn't a bad idea at all. Just make plans to replace the battery every 1-3 years. I've seen batteries hit 4 years before, but have also seen multiple batteries killed by dirty power within 12-18 months.

It might be an obvious point, but they are also heavy (as they are basically little car batteries). You'll need to factor that in to wherever you're planning on placing the UPS.

Just want to thank @ev77 again for the work on the app!

I just spotted the little “LIVE” label that shows when you bring the show details up in the video player, and got unreasonably happy about it. It’s a tiny thing, but that isn’t standard UI for Apple TV’s video player. Just a really nice little touch, on top of many others.

Thanks again, duder!

A new version has been submitted and should hopefully be in the app store this weekend with fixes for both problems. @samcroft90@silens

Cheers @ev77 for the continued hard work on this, and cheers @conmulligan for the assist here! Just checked with the Bombcast live stream, and all working here as well.

@ev77: I've been seeing the same issue as @samcroft90 (no audio on livestreams) intermittently over the last few months. Some weeks it's fine, but some weeks UPF starts playing with no audio. Sometimes, the red LIVE icon also doesn't appear in the top-left corner of the app, so the only way to get to the stream is to open the app, then hit the microphone icon the second the app opens, before it reverts to the Infinite/Twitch icon. I last saw this issue on the UPF for 17th December 2021.

Where it's intermittent, I wonder if anything has changed with how Jan is sending the video/audio out, or if the team is trying different settings to resolve the video issues we were seeing when Jeff sends video to Jan.

App Version: 8.4 (1)

tvOS version: 15.1.1 (I'm just downloading 15.2 now, so don't know if that will resolve the issue)

Using an Apple TV 4k

All that "extra material" has always been the most important aspect of the games for me. The radio stations. Occasionally the tv shows. I really need to replay the PS4 version of GTAV as I haven't experienced all of the new content they added...and yeah, I got a lot of laughs off the talk radio bits over the years, especially JB Smoove's turn as Ray De Angelo Harris in Chakra Attack.

Shout outs to Chakra Attack!

I'm over the vast majority of the Adult Swim-style stuff in the game, but Chakra Attack did get a few genuine laughs out of me when I played this 100 years ago when it was first released.

I've always been a Giant Bomb subscriber for the personalities, and the untethered nonsense that results from them working together. Most of the new shows aren't my thing, but I'm glad to see Jeff, Jeff and the team are taking some big swings.

I suspect that I'm more tired of remote, webcam-based shows than I am down on these new shows. In a year or two, I would hope that we're seeing a lot more of this stuff being recorded in-person, where folks aren't fighting against video-call lag and being unable to interact in-person.

I'm not going to write off Giant Bomb for trying some new things, and look forward to seeing how they move forward with new shows/features going forward, now that there is some feedback to look at. Keep at it, duders!

(My two cents: Grubbsnax and Guilty Treasures are my jam. Everything else I'm pretty negative on, but that's ok - not every show has to be for every person)

Ended up picking one up in the 2022 batch, as I'm very interested to see what folks build for the device.

As with most of the non-US folks, I had the frustrating experience of seeing the 502 nginx error as the preorders went live (meaning I was there as early as I could have possibly been), had a Playdate and case in my cart within 60 seconds of the shop going live (for the 2021 batch), then spent the next half hour watching as orders outside the US were told they couldn't be delivered, so couldn't be checked out. The 2021 batch sold out.

Playdate/Panic have explained that their partner for international shipping had issues with the traffic on their end, which I get, and are looking at their "options". Not expecting them to be able to do anything - it is what it is. I'm super disappointed that I'll be missing out on the initial "discourse" as everyone discovers their weekly games together, but this is still something I want to check out.
