In the future, man’s best friend is a gas mask. 0

Over the past years in videogames we’ve been able to experience a world post nuclear attacks and struggle against new enemies, scavenge around for tools, and try and survive to see another day. Metro 2033 was released in March of 2010, and gave us a different take on that type of experience. I finally had a chance to play the game, and I was pretty impressed.  Taking elements from Fallout, Bioshock, and a little Silent Hill mixed in, Metro delivers a world full of desperation, and as Russian sur...

Live by the Creed, Recruit by The Creed 0

Assassin’s Creed Brotherhood is pretty much a direct sequel to AC:II. Things pick up right after the end of the of that game, and without giving anything away, just know that you’ll be controlling the Assassin  Ezio Auditore da Firenze once again and for certain bits Desmond as each get closer to obtaining the information they are seeking.   Hungry for Apples    The mysterious Apple of Eden is an item that everyone seems to be interested in Brotherhood. It’s mysterious power could turn the tide...

How the West was Undead 0

Red Dead Redemption was one of my favorite games of this year. It was initially supported with DLC focused on multiplayer, but with the Undead Nightmare, Rockstar has created content on par with the Lost & Damned and Ballad of Gay Tony. Undead Nightmare is a ton of fun, and one that worth picking up either with the retail disc or simply downloading it for Xbox Live.   Something funny’s going on here Taking place toward the end of RDR, Undead Nightmare shows John Marston goi...

To find the truth, you’re gonna have to go in the deep end. 0

Hydrophobia is an arcade game known in it’s previews for the impressive water effects it can bring. The ability to change the terrain with water and take out enemies using good ol’ H20 is a strong point in this game, but a few control issues and story flow provide unnecessary bumps in the overall ride of this game.   Danger lurks around every wet corner in Hydrophobia Hydrophobia has been set up as an multiple game story arc, and the beginning with this one seems to be pretty though, although ...

Forgive your enemies, but remember their names. 0

Call of Duty: Blacks Ops is a high octane ride through a surpringly legthy campaign, accompanied by the always addictive multiplayer and the return of a Zombies mode. Black Ops has it all, and all of it is great. 4815162342  Numbers play an important role the story of Black Ops, and as special forces operative Alex Mason, it’s up to you to figure out what they mean. Strapped to a chair and questioned by unknown people, Mason must recall all the events that led him to where he is. Viktor Reznoz ...

Which side of the force will choose? 0

The Original Force Unleashed was all about fast lightsaber action and dispatching of any one in your way as Darth Vader’s apprentince, and the end of that game brought up two choices. The sequel assumes you made one so that the story could make sense. The story in this game is great, and the action has been ramped up quite a bit, so fans who enjoyed the original will like this game. Who is Starkiller? Once again you are Starkiller, the secret apprentice of the Sith leader Darth Vader since the ...

Welcome to Fortune City: Home of the Rich and Undead. 0

Surrounded by the undead Horde with three strangers depending on your help, you look down at your watch and discover that Katey will need Zombrex in 20 minutes. The only problem is that you don’t have any at the moment. What will you do? After four years of waiting, Dead Rising 2 is finally here. Our small taste of the action in Case Zero was great, but now it’s time for the main course. Since the main portion of the story takes 72 hours (about 6 hours real-time), you’ll still have to pick and c...

Remember Reach. Begin the Fight. 0

Before we began our journey as the quiet and deadly Master Chief, Spartans were almost as common as the marines of the UNSC. They formed Elite squads that were ready for anything, but the Covenant proved to be more prepared and unleashed an all-attack on the planet Reach. Step into the shoes of Noble 6 and fight alongside the Spartans in Bungie’s last hoorah with Halo. If you could only buy one FPS this year, it would be hard not to recommend Reach. Bungie has given us plenty of reasons to pop i...

Chuck Greene doesn't need to cover wars. Spike TV’s hit show arrives to Xbox Live Arcade and provides a solid fighting engine and mechanics, while staying true to the warriors in the show. Eight of the best are here with the Ninja, Spartan, Centurion, Viking, Apache, Knight, Samurai, and Pirate making up the default roster of fighters, with more promised down the line as Downloadable Content. Help The Boy find his way in LIMBO 0

He wakes to find no one. The forest does not grant him a warm welcome. It is quiet, dark, and scary, the very epitome of a nightmare. Unaware of the danger ahead, he stands up, ready to begin his search. The Boy in the forest At it’s core, Limbo is a simple puzzle platformer in terms of it’s game-play, but that’s not the focus of what you will take away from this game. The dark and unforgiving atmosphere, and the journey to escape will draw you in from start to finish, making it one of the most...

Same City. New Foes. Welcome Back, Agent! 0

Notoriously know for “That game with the Halo 3 Beta”, Crackdown turned out to be a pretty solid game. It made collecting things fun, and featured co-op through the entire game while allowing you to be a bad-ass agent for . The story was second, and the gameplay came first giving you one goal: Take out all the enemy gangs. The second one is more of the same, but that is a good thing.     4 Player Co-op is awesome. Not pictured is the fourth player getting killed by the other three.  Crackd...

“I think they want us to review the game, Zach.” 0

“What should we tell them about first, Zach? Oh I know! In our game, Deadly Premonition, the main goal is to follow the trail of murder that has led us to Greenvale, the small town full of people who were devastated by news of a murder that has taken place in their quiet town. Step inside the new & improved octagon in UFC 2010 0

UFC Undisputed 2010 improves on the formula that 2009 established while tweaking all the minor problems that the original game contained. There are more fighters, more options for online play, a bigger career mode, and plenty of tutorials to understand the aspects of MMA you will need to have in order to score the victory against your opponents. Become John Marston and seek your Redemption 0

Red Dead Redemption takes what we love from the Grand Theft Auto franchise and applies it to a world that is unfamiliar and largely untapped in the world of videogames. Serving as a spiritual successor to Red Dead Revolver, Redemption takes place in the early 1900's where the government is just starting to form and establish itself in a place where it's not uncommon to be killed for your possessions or just for sport by the ruthless outlaws. John Marston is a man on a mission: save his family an...

Mark & Execute your way to the Truth in Splinter Cell: Conviction 0

Splinter Cell Conviction has been in development for quite some time as we all know, and the game has gone through some major changes from it's story, character design, and  traditional stealth game-play. It's finally here and I believe it is the best game in the franchise as it keeps a great balance between the stealth and action and includes some great co-op features that will keep you busy for quite some time. Fisher is back, and this time things get personal.        Fisher is Finally Back an...

Winterbottom's Quest for Pie, Is an XBLA Treat you can't deny! 0

The Misadventures of P.B Winterbottom is an Xbox Live Arcade game with some style. The silent-film look of the game is one of the great features of the game, alongside the music and interesting story. It involves P.B Winterbottom, a man on a mission to eat all the pies he can find, although this leads him into some sort of time portal which gives him the ability to clone himself in different ways. Each world is about 5-10 levels, and the rules of beating each level will change how you obtain pie...

Bioshock 2 proves that there's more to Rapture than we knew 0

It must have been difficult for development on Bioshock 2 by 2K Marin. They would have to walk a delicate line with this game in order to appease everyone who believed that there was no need for a sequel to arguably the best game of 2007. They somehow managed to accomplish this for the most part, and can now take a deep breath. Instead of revisiting old areas of Rapture, we're able to visit new locations, interact with more new characters and one of the most important shifts that this game bring...

As Ezio, You will Kill by The Creed in ACII 0

Assassin's Creed II is a much more enjoyable game than ACI and improves on many of the faults that were found in the original game. Those very repetitive tasks required for an assassination are gone, and the game instead has a focused mission-based structure this time around. It almost feels like GTA in a way because of the focus of the main character and the many great cutscenes found in the game that progress the storyline and sets up elements that will no doubt be another sequel to the f...

Wage War in Darksiders 0

Darksiders as you no doubt have heard takes elements from other games including The Legend of Zelda and God of War. This isn't a bad thing, as the feel of the game is probably the closest thing 360 and PS3 players have to playing as the great warrior Link and is also a great game for Nintendo fans who have multiple consoles and want something Zelda-like to play. As War, one of the four Horsemen of the Apocalypse, you will engage in battles with demons and angels as you uncover a plot that threat...

New Cast. Same Goal. Survive! 0

Left 4 Dead 2 would arrive roughly one year after the original game, and was promised to contain enough content to justify the $60 price tag as it's previous version. With 5 campaigns all playable in Versus, two new modes of play, and new a cast of survivors and special infected, Left 4 Dead 2 does offer more than than LFD1, but is it good?    The New Crew have some big shoes to fill.   Borderlands is a game that held my attention for about two weeks, and never let go. It's satisfying Shooting and plethora of guns and quest to complete, made it one of the funnest games I have played all year. There's plenty of content here to hold you over for quite some time, and the great addition of co-op only makes it better. I review Zombie Apocalypse 0

Zombie Apocalypse is a twin stick shooter for Xbox Live Arcade that incorporates the elements that we would expect from a twin stick shooter: Precision is key, racking up points is fun, and multiplayer is a nice addition to the game. Besides using the left and right analog sticks to move and shoot, Zombie Apocalypse also uses the triggers to control a chainsaw, and the bumpers throw zombie bait to attract the zombies to a location preferably away from you. Hilarity ensues when this occurs, becau...

Orbital Shock and Awe 0

Halo 3: ODST may have started out as simple expansion and something to tie us over until Halo Reach comes out, but it grew into something more and can easily share the spotlight with the Halo trilogy in terms of quality and presentation. You don't need me to tell that you're not Master Chief, the Spartan we all love and know, but from the start Bungie made tweaks to the gameplay to drill in the fact and by the end of the story, I almost forget about the Green Demon. In ODST, the highly trained M...

Jason Flemming vs. The Restoration. Winner Gets Claire 0

Jason Flemming is about to embark on the craziest date ever. Shadow Complex Mixes classic Gameplay with Next Gen Production Values that turns into roughly 800 Megabytes of pure fun. The game pays homage in a big way to the Metroid and Castlevania Series while trying a few new things. In my opinion it was the best offering from the 2009 Summer of Arcade line up, as well as being one of the best Live Arcade games since well, ever.       -Story- This is probably the weakest element of the game. Ma, I'm Coming Home 0

Alex Shepard is a lot tougher than previous Silent Hill Protagonists. Silent Hill Homecoming is the 6th title to bear the Silent Hill name. It incorporates elements from the previous games, but includes a few new tweaks and enhancements to reach a bigger audience. This franchise in my opinion has always had an appealing feature to the gamers that loves horror games, due to its usually vulnerable characters, disturbing creatures, and the infamous foggy town of the game.  Homecoming strays a litt...
