This game is beloved. If you don't like it cool. If you want to politely explain why it doesn't work in a light hearted way, great. Just keep in mind it is not just a few people here who love it, This is an extremely well received game with a lot of diehard fans; so you might as well punch at waves in the ocean...or go punch a whale, if you dare.
However, if you just want to slag-off the game and the people who like it just put down the keyboard, because you're are better than that. If you want to say what they should play instead there is a whole other thread for that too.
It wasn't that well received. It certainly didn't review amazingly (7s and 8s across the board) so to act like its critics are in a losing battle with some juggernaut is really silly and overstating things.
There are plenty of 7 out of 10 games that I absolutely adore and worship, but I don't act like they should be immune to receiving criticism in a manner I deem inappropriate. It doesn't work that way.
For the record, I was one of the people that really didn't want this to win the vote because it feels like really well worn territory and I feel like the rest of the internet over-publicizing it has made up for GB's lack of coverage.
I just noticed that Wyldstyle always moves in a kind stop-motion way where she can only move her limbs in a way that a real Lego figure could and her animations seem to be at a lower framerate so it looks like stop-motion, kinda like in the movie, while all other characters move like they always do in Lego games, that's kind of a neat detail.
