@MikeinSC Yes the world is unfair and unjust. I didn't deny that. But that hasn't to mean that this is unchangeable. I myself don't think that such a change will come soon ( or at all), but not on the basis of "has been like it and therefore will stay that way" but on the inability of us, as a race, to grow up and get our shit together.
About your comparison: The cultural revolution was a part of the chinese societey just as income disparsity is a part of the american. But that is irrelevant. The outcome is unhappy people. The revolution created chaos and as a result suffering. The income inequality creates complexes, social stratification and as a result suffering. Do you get where I'm going? Because I get the impression that you are throwing out your comments just for the sake of discussion since the standpoint you are taking can't seriously be your actual world view. If I'm wrong though and it is, than consider this my last comment and you may have the lost word in my regard.
@MikeinSC I'm talking about his personal view of what is valuable or not. So what others see in the thing he creates and deems valuable is irrelevant. You know, your little one draws a crappy picture with is worthless in the context of market worth or usability, but has sentimental value to you because it's the first picture it has drawn. And if the "system" you live in is so great, why is almost every country using it full of people who are unhappy?
...as opposed to the other systems, where the people were also unhappy and ALSO tended to die in epic numbers...
No. Not opposed to them. Seen from a global standpoint, and compared to what we are capable of, our system is on the same side as those other systems failing to be fair and just.

That's something I have been aware of for a long time. The thing is WHY are they everywhere? What creates mean people? My guess is it's an evil communist nazi scientist satan worshipping terrorist in South America.
