@dougfunk15: The problem is there is still no game worth caring about. VR is just a really fancy, really expensive minigame collection right now.
Yep. And it's still very much up in the air whether or not it'll be a success... selling out means nothing because we don't know exactly how many units they're producing. We won't really know if it has a future until Christmas time, when people beyond rich enthusiasts might actually buy it.
VR talk bored me to tears. They all sound like disposable minigames, it's just not an interesting discussion since there's no game there. Not much actual gameplay to speak of, no story, no characters, etc. Just the novelty of a more immersive way to experience either extremely basic minigames, or already established ones like Project Cars.
The atmosphere, setting, and time period aspects to it all make it look way more interesting to me than FC3 or 4. I also think the crafting system actually sounds cool since it all works in tangent with eachother. The stories in 3 and 4 were absolute garbage so a minimalist one would be an improvement. Bought it for $30 on PC, looking forward to it.
Agree with this review. I liked the game a lot, but the third act was incredibly disappointing and felt undercooked especially compared to how strong the first two acts are (and that opening, man). Almost as if they just ran out of money and had to end it sooner than they wanted. Still far better written than Gone Home, though, and probably my new favorite in the "walking simulator" genre or whatever it's called now.
@sweep: The other side's viewpoint is widely available online and was the only one available during the trial. This stuff you google searched as an attempt to paint the series as having a dishonest agenda has already been debunked. The DNA could have come from anything, the sweat theory is nonsense. I haven't been "manipulated", I've looked at every one of Kratz' defense points and none of them are convincing. Dassey's unedited videos are even more heartbreaking, how anyone could think the doc is simply "pushing an agenda" for him is infuriating. He just wanted to go to school and didn't comprehend what he was saying, because they forced him into saying it. And for the record, what I was upset about is Gerstmann loudly boasting an opinion that isn't just founded in ignorance, but a wrong and misguided view on true crime doc's in general.
@turambar: Right, but the anti-vaccers are flat out wrong while distrust of the justice system is right. Ideally the series leads people to want to get more involved and learn more instead of thinking they know it all.
