@jdoucette1992: You mean the side played all over Wisconsin news during the trial? The side backed by Ken Kratz, who's points have already been debunked (like the sweat under the car hood)? Killing a cat when you're 20, surrounded by peers egging you on doesn't mean a lot. I'd love to see an argument half as convincing as the one presented in the series for the other side, but it doesn't seem to exist. And don't even get me started with Dassey, the real tragedy in all of it.
@jedikv: If GB isn't adequately capable of discussing issues like that they shouldn't even try. These podcasts are edited, someone decided to leave Jeff's MaM bit in.
@nkster: They shouldn't stop talking about it. It's incredibly important, you're right, but when the guy who runs this whole site takes a pretty callous stance against it I guess it's not surprising fans don't care either. People should be up in arms about trying to get Brendan Dassey freed, as well as what's going on with police brutality against minorities and income inequality. There's a lot of glaring, unbelievable problems happening in society met with constant apathy by a large part of the population. It's why Avery and Dassey were able to get completely railroaded and fucked over in the first place, because of that exact mentality Jeff is spouting - "I heard he was probably a shitbag anyway"
@jeff: I didn't really hear it as a pure joke the first time, but I'll give you that one if that's how it was meant. My main issue was judging the show without being informed on it.
@nkster: His thoughts are ludicrously short sighted and ignorant. Making a Murderer is an indictment of the U.S. Justice system, not a definitive answer to the innocence of Avery (though close to it for Dassey). True crime journalism can be about deeper issues like this was, and beyond that he made the judgment from apparently just reading some stuff online and not watching a single episode. Terrible.
Holy fucking shit Jeff sounds like the most ignorant fool in the world talking about Making a Murderer. And the takeaway of "we need more vigilante justice"... These guys should stick to video games. Good lord.
$679 after tax and shipping here in SoCal. Jesus. I ordered one, says it ships in May so I have till then to decide if I want to cancel. My excitement for new, groundbreaking tech outweighs my sense that this is way too fucking expensive... If the Vive comes in lower I'll probably swing for that instead.
