It's not just Gran Pulse, it's this whole bloody game. XIII and its sequels are abominations one and all.

Man... this quick look made me cross-eyed. Worse than Brad playing Shadow of the Colossus and not looking at the stamina meter.

Poor Kinect. This game is probably the best thing it ever did. I would have liked to see this concept explored further.

Yeah... X-2 was the first and only (besides XV which I have yet to get around to) mainline FF game I never felt the need to play. Looking back, I see parallels between it and the shitfest that is the XIII trilogy. This one really heralds the beginning of the end of FF for me.

I've pretty much lost interest in triple-A games these days and this is a large part of the reason. The notion of games as a service repulses me. Thankfully, there are still a large number of indie and even some bigger studio developers making games that are self-contained stories with beginnings, middles and endings and don't rely on online or microtransactions. Nier: Automata came out this year and doesn't rely on any of that bullshit (shoddy DLC that I didn't buy notwithstanding.)

PSX Fantasies done! I suppose X is next. Good luck with that. Voice acting!

(You really should play Xenogears sometime. It's the absolute insanest of the PSX JRPGs.)

Does anyone else have trouble getting to the comments on this from the Forums page? I get page not found errors.

I find it a bit weird that my tastes align better with Jason's than almost anyone else this year (except #1, Overwatch, which I couldn't care less about) since I think Japanese game design has gone straight down the crapper the past ten years.

Hyper Light Drifter deserves more love. What a great game.
