This sounds weird, and not in the good way. Everything from the controls to the story/cinematic nature of the game strike me as very out of place. Metroid Prime was able to get away with it as it still retained a lot of the same elements of a Metroid game, such as the feeling of isolation, the upgrade system, and the putting the story behind everything else.
It was a very successful formula. Why throw it away?
Regardless, I'll wait to see more before passing final judgment. Either way, I'm a lot less interested now.
