@monkeyking1969: lol youre a subscriber, not an investor. You can feel however you want to feel, but if youre subbing so their parent company can maintain a vague evaluation of their existence, woof.
@christ0phe: having to scramble to find reasons for it to exist is a shame. Everytime new premium offerings pop up and fuckin die a month later it feels like the longest running series on GiantBomb is "Making Excuses"
@sicamore: lmao, theres no way you just compared independent twitch streams to GB. RV bought the CNET properties for $500 million dollars. Your parasocial relationship to a streamer isnt shit compared to what the site makes. If their literal main revenue stream is premium subs paying for literally nothing of value added for the cost, youre beyond lost in the sauce. Rykert makes more on his twitch stream in a week then this whole company probably makes on premium subs in a month.
People are talking about justifying their premium membership by citing shows thats are completely free. Youre paying for an ad free podcast (that you can skip by scrolling) and 1 show.
The back catalog gets old. And all of those personalities are gone. Paying the current group money to watch the old teams content is so wild, the mental gymnastics involved are medal worthy. And keep in mind, Red Ventures is one of the biggest media monopolys alive now, since the aquisition. Theyre not a small indie company.
Your sub is a drop in the bucket now. I have no idea why they are still offering premium as a service at all.
Im gonna guess someone will have to link to this thread via a tweet since none of the team seems active to any capacity on their website and emails dont land, but everyone is mega active on twitter.
Kind of absurd that this thread is near the top of the general discussion but is effectively being ignored by anyone who can provide any amount of insight. Feels like reddit threads and angry tweets get more traction then people who use the site that predates anything else.
Im not of the type to say that reading a walkthrough to get to the next part is a bad idea. You dont need to spoil puzzles or fights, but the game gets "Dark Souls Level" obscure at one point if you specifically don't know where to go.
