@slndr Golden days back then. I'm a TNT advocate. I wish the live shows were as fast and loose as they used to be. So much more stiff and corporate these days (by Giant Bomb standards, naturally). They need a better set--one that doesn't feel like they've decided to play games in a hospital ward.
I'd rather Ian experimented like crazy and broke stuff in the process, rather than played it safe. I bet learning how to manage the Tricaster is a job in itself, though. There's only so much you can ask of a guy who's relatively new at it.
I'm surprised at GTA V's low position. I think that'll improve given time (I reluctantly ranked it, even though I'm only about 50% of the way through), although conversely, perhaps The Last of Us' high ranking is an consequence of its relative freshness in people's consciousnesses (and the fact that, for the many that ranked it, it may already be a 'complete' experience, which is easier to comprehend from a distance, unlike GTA).
I thoroughly enjoyed my time with Red Dead Redemption, but never felt compelled to finish the main storyline in the manner I have done other Rockstar games. My lukewarm response to that game was likely my own fault, playing it, as I did, over two years after its initial release.
Vinewood Boulevard Radio. I was so thrilled when three bands I adored came on one after the other when I was about 3hrs in and just starting to get accustomed to the stations. Thee Oh Sees, METZ and Wavves. Made me really happy.
Vinny came in, killed it, and dropped the mic. Now Jeff, the Old Bombardier on the block, sweat beading on his forehead and seeping through the static polyester of his red Adidas tracksuit, has to kneel down in front of a stunned crowd, pick up that spit-drenched mic, and rap like he's never rapped before. Will the old MC regain his crown? Or has V-Bomb taken the hood by storm?
