Mortal Kombat vs DC universe is getting a lot of hype. Mainly because Mortal Kombat characters are being pitted against characters from a different world. This world happens to be of the famous superheroes from the DC universe that almost everyone knows, such as Batman and Superman. I mean I'm pretty intersted in the game just as much as the next person but everyone seems to be forgetting the most important part, gameplay.


The gameplay looks pretty simlar to the previous tittles. Although obviusoly they integrated some new elements in there. One such element is free fall combat where the two players fall from an arena and as they fall they mash buttons while the attacker attacks and the defender, instead of just watching yourself get pummeled in mid air you can bress buttons and block some of the attacks. It would be awesome if the defender can turn the tables around and switch position as you fall. Also there's a new test your might game. The test your might system hasn't been explained thoroughy, well for that fact it hasn't been explained at all, but it looks pretty awesome when the players are being driven through walls and back into the fighting area. Also, apparently the DC characters onnly can  perform brutalities and MK characters can perform fatalities. I think this is very stupid cuz it would've made more sense if all characters from both worlds could've performed both of them. So far they have only shown one brutaility and it's Superman's. All he does is pummel you the ground and at the end only your head and arms are visible, which basically all they did is integrate it from Sheeva's fatality from Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3. They haven't shown any fatalities yet. Another thing that caught my attention was Sonya Blade's new move. She has what appears to be a similar version to Liu Kang's bicycle kick, but instead of going across the screen her's goes up. As far as the Flash goes , this guy is just Kbal but as himself obviously.


Aside from these things, the game looks like Mortal Kombat and plays like it but doesn't look like a serious competitors to other 3D fighters such as Soul Calibur IV. But the goom looks like it'll entertain MK veterans such as myself.
