Of course Patrick would link the J.J. Abrams TED talk, no surprise there.
Only thing is, out of the multitudes of genuinely inspirational and thought provoking TEDs, that one has to be one of the worst and most nonsensical of them all. It's glorified PR for his stupid hype machine (what I'm trying to say is...go check out TED, the other TED, it's truly wonderful).
Is it just me, or have a lot, and i mean a lot, of people been using the word "emblematic" ever since Jeff said it a week ago?
Par for the course, with a large segment of the GB community. The suckup is nauseating, and you should see how it is when there are livestreams going on. I remember Sean Coonce once dropping in and simply saying hello, and the next 5 minutes it was one long torrent of people hammering the shift key, screaming COOOOONCE MY MAN, HOWZIT GOIN BROTHER etc. like they were the closest friends with him.
Incoming! But...you just know it's gonna be Patrick covering it, and with its hot indie aesthetic, gonna get showered with praise.
This time it's deserved, although Patrick's "If it's Indie it's good, if it's mainstream it's probably bad" mentality is starting to annoy me.
I'm with you. I think he was a great addition to the team, but lately his shtick has begun to get on my nerves. For all his talk about being open minded, he's seems more and more dismissive of whole genres.
