That would be so cool. I wouldn't worry about my 60GB so much when it's acting weird. I love playing PS2 games on my HDTV, upscaled.

I always take the disc out before turning off the PS3. I don't think there's any harm in leaving the game in, but it's just a habit I have.

I think I may get it, as there aren't any PS3 games I'll be getting anytime soon. I love fighting games and that's a genre my PS3 lacks.

I have a similar problem, but the fan only gets louder when playing GTAIV for awhile. I hope it's nothing serious as well, and it's been like that for a month. So far, everything is working as it did when I got it, almost two years ago.

Yes, and it was totally worth going out and buying an HDTV when I could barely afford it, and my folks kept telling me not to.

Online is free, if that will help sway you. Although the 360's fee isn't too bad as some people like to make, it's not something you will have to worry about with the PS3. Plus, depending on the model, you can have decent backward compatibility.

I'm a Blizzard fanboy to begin with, so it's basically between their big three franchises for me. Right now, it would be Warcraft (although I don't care for WoW). After Diablo III is released, I could see myself lean towards that. And I love Starcraft, but there's only one of them out right now (not including the expansion).
