I got the PS3 a couple weeks after it came out because I loved the PS2 and PS1 so much. It was the first time I bought a console so close to the release date, and it will be the only time. I love the PS3 and all, but at the time I was very disappointed in it. I suppose I'm kind of lucky though, since I got the 60GB (no offense to those who have the other models) but I find myself playing PS2 games a lot, and the upscaler is a nice feature. I lost interest in Nintendo after the Gamecube. I didn't like a lot of the games for the system, and I hated the controllers. I never really cared for Mario or Zelda even on the NES/SNES days. I liked Metroid, Chrono Trigger, Final Fantasy, Castlevania, Street Fighter, and Contra so there was no big incentive for me to go with the Wii. As for the 360, we have a PC that can play most of the games that are on the system, as well as the PS3, since they share a lot of multiplats. I also don't have a lot of time to play games as I used to with work and school, so I don't plan on getting another system for awhile. If I do, it will be the 360.

I never bought a guide separately. I have the strategy guide for Starcraft, Brood War, Warcraft II B.Net edition, and Diablo II. All were from the Battle Chest, so they were kind of forced upon me, but I checked them out and I found the Diablo II guide quite useful. Other than that I just use the net. If I get stuck somewhere I just load of gamefaqs and find what I'm looking for in a couple seconds then I'm done. I don't see any point in buying them.

It adds more to games, and some healthy competitiveness among PS3 users.

I use in-game messaging more than I used to before it was in-game, but that's not saying much.

That's cool, I guess. Better late than never.

I'll probably get Soul Calibur 4, unless the reviews aren't too good for it. I don't have a lot of time to play games, thus I spend more money and time on games that get high 80's to 90s on gamerankings or metacritic.

It does work but it depends on a lot of things, such as what you are watching, what kind of HDTV you have, and how it's connected. I have a cheap HDTV and there are some movies that look really good upscaled, and there are others that look horrible, none in the middle unfortunately.

Yup, I am. Same username, but I switch around, and it sucks that it won't let me upload any picks yet.

Edit: Nevermind, it was my firewall.

What bothers me is that some games that seem bigger and look better don't take as much room for installation, while games that seem inferior do. I'm not a developer so I don't know much about it, maybe some games need it. I mean, I could always delete the cache file if I'm not playing the game anymore, and saves don't take as much. I just hate some of the installs, like for Devil May Cry 4.
