Nevermind my post, actually listening to the podcast they gave BB a respectable treatment for a group of gamers who feel really little for BB, but a lot for the ultra-hype titles that the other sites don't go ultimate gaga about like Phantom Pain which got old incredibly fast.

I think SMM is great, I'm waiting for a properly priced WiiU deal, and that SMM is deserving of being high, and I'ma let you finish, but the amount of people not playing Bloodborne and other long games at GB is too damn high. I am the guy who will nod when BB's issues and faults are brought up and then point out unseen weaknesses and poor designs in it but it's a goddamn shame.

2016 is jam packed with games well longer than 40 hours, but far more welcoming to players than the Souls style of Bloodborne or the deep well-done RPG of Witcher 3. They need to figure out a way to handle coverage of the coming long ones other than handing them over to someone at the east office.

(Disclaimer: Other sites considered small that from the outside are indeed looking small have five to ten times more staff than giantbomb.)

Before even hearing the fifth and final day of GOTY talk I feel Vinny about that. Other sites do raw votes to decide things rather than rambling for two hours about single games, Bloodborne won the GOTY by a single vote on gametrailers, or was it Eurogamer? Difference being that the majority of their people played and finished both.

Good point from Austin on selecting the music, Bloodborne would have gotten mentions for its score had people played it, and experienced getting kidnapped by a tall terrifying man with a bag over his shoulder, waking up in an even scarier dungeon cell with darkness and 100% unfamiliar areas all around you, and what plays in your headphones is

It sucks how few people have had time for the very lengthy over 40 hours to finish game Bloodborne (/s) or been able to pass its barrier of entry which is learning the basics and accepting the gameplay. I love roguelikes, and in those the thing you need to accept is that you can and will die and depending on the style, lose everything and your life, or just be resurrected in town with only sword and shield to show for your adventures. Doesn't work for everybody.

And I'm okay with it. DS3 will be the last souls game and we will enjoy it, those of us who can appreciate it, along with roguelikes that we still go noooooo over when we end up 1 HP too low to survive with no escapes. BB frankly didn't have anything but visual style to put it in that category and it was just mouldy rotten raw scary victorian sewer-slum that went lovecraftian for style, and then what style did Tomb Raider have to even put it in there?

(In North America you had to pre-order to get ito the SFV beta, not in the rest of the world, pre-orders becomes a must because of your retailers who really really like money.)

Bought it at christmas on PSN for next to nothing and going through Sorcery Saga: Curse of the Great Curry God on my PSTV right now, it is a super lovely rogue-like of the Shiren/Mystery Dungeon Japanese style, everything about it except the framerate instability is the most fine charming greatness. It has a better written story and better characters and character development and all that than too many larger games. Underrated wonderful gem.

The lead-character Purupuru belongs on a list of great female characters in gaming. Wish I felt similarly for dungeoncrawlers as I do for roguelikes.

And to wrap up my rage, if FO4 was a clean, polished, steady and stable product that technically (not graphically) came from this part of the millennium, the only talking point would be the (arguably) worthless settlement building activities. People still talk about the characters and events in Witcher 3 and surprisingly even Bloodborne.

That shows you the one quality Bethesda has - making money.

Currently reinstalling Morrowind patched but modless so that I can go through it in January. Cliffracers are still cunts, Morrowind still puts everything that came but New Vegas to incredible shame.

Jeff says all my thoughts 2h16m in about the brokeasshitjank and he says them well. I think they're thinking all the same way in the code when they make them as they did with the earlier Elder Scrolls games, and it doesn't translate at all. Like they have ready set routines they basically drag and drop in and it does not translate at all. They are still on GameBryo, when they speak of new engines it's just taking on another iteration of it and putting identical code in.

It is the fourth Bethesda game where I lose 50+ hours to corruption from the game itself.
