@bargainben: The ten year thing is for the entire franchise future, but one needs to be either into the social playing together aspect, the grinding or the killing-duders modes to make this game last. That's what I feel from days of playtime during alpha and beta, that the longevity requires one to be more into it than I was and I loved every moment and had no problem getting down on the ground and grinding mission after mission of generic "kill ten of these" mindless timekilling.

Luckily my PS4 is off on RMA again so no Destiny until next year..

Minecraft 360 has been The BestSeller (or just about) nearly everywhere it's out physically or digitally since it got released, so it's not that bad of an idea.

It's just that it's a one-hit-company and Notch could go, letting whoever wants leave with him, and head out to build another team.

And that it's would be another unexplainable piece of desperate insanity from Microsoft if they were to do this.

And causing the Ferguson of gamers if they along with the acquisition demanded that all non-Microsoft platforms versions of Minecraft were to be recalled.

Can we get some gaming news about the Samsung VR then? It's an Oculus gig after all, with some good looking hardware and interesting software in it.

Are you guys on about writers or developers, because Motomu "I want to marry Lightning" Toriyama is second, third, or maybe even fourth to the steaming diarrhoea dump Bioware gave us with Mass Effect 3.

All video games should provide the player with the stimuli that comes from experiencing success, reaching a goal, coming to a target destination.

The hunt for fun is why focus groups ruin games.

Mass media didn't give a shit about the Far Cry 4 cover-art, the writing of the fictional females in GTA5, the lack of a female character in AC Unity, slave business in AC4 because it's fiction. Nothing about it was promoting it or saying to do that and be like that in real life. Gamers can learn from mass media. Mass media are decent people. The mass media knows about reality and real life. Gamers know only gaming, that's why they lose their shit and cry racism-wolf at FC4 and why I am not a gamer.

I am but a person who happens to enjoy some gaming every now and then.

Since it's about Nintendo, it's because they still believe in regionlocking. If you're in Europe, import a unit from Canada on launch and save a motherload of money on the unit and the games and wait 6-18 months less for games to come out in their European form.

If it the question arises about non-regionlocked games on non-regionlocked machines, it's about matchmaking to specific servers, often special editions for those games edited to fit those regions, such as the Japanese GTA5 and how it only worked with Japanese GTA5 copies on their specific servers whereas the rest of the world had a true international thing going. GTA5 was like the fourth or fifth best selling game of 2013 in Japan for that matter so no problem finding players for company even right now.

My PS4 went away for another RMA and money is bad for reasons beyond my control but I just feel sceptical about Destiny and its long term life potential for the people who don't plan to do the Crucible PvP like mad. Even though I happily played and grinded up 10k Glimmer and a ton of unidentified gear on low level mobs by running a circuit that should have been the most dull thing ever, a bunch of times, without minding it at all. Would I continue playing after reaching level 30+ through gear and doing everything PvE and figuring out how to do the raid with clanmates without anybody dying in order to get the last achievement?

Right now I'd do Destiny only if I had more than enough money to buy it and survive the rest of the month with. Its digital pricing on PSN being more than it costs to buy a physical copy and pay for shipping, or go downtown to the expensive store on an expensive bus ticket, does not help of course.
