sp1der1976: My all time favourate games!

List items

  • Yes I know Its current gen and therefore an unfashionable choice for a number one favourate. But you know what? I dont care, 124 hours and counting, a huge open and believable world, hundreds of quests to do and countless classy touches all add up to a unbeatable package. My love of this game can be traced back to role-playing game books, Lone Wolf in particular. For decades It seemed there was nothing in the RPG genre but group-based Final Fantasy Clones. Then along comes this sole RPG epic in the Lone Wolf, sword and magic vein and I was hooked.

  • The best ever GTA by far. A sublime soundtrack, awsomly immersive and Tommy Verceti remains to this day my all time favourate game proganist. Who can ever forget the first time they crused down the beach strip at night? all that pink neon and classic music? Magic.

  • This game was the first ever home copy of SF2 I ever owned, it was on the Mega Drive and I was so grateful to Capcom for bringing it away from SNES and onto my machine so I could play it. I played this for hours and hours! I also brought SSF2, which was ok but to be honest this outshined it in every way.

  • I played this game so much I completed all 4 endings.............twice!! A truly sublime experience from start to finish. Combining my love of History and Gaming to weave a compelling story that threads its way through the tapersrty of time.

  • An awsome and immersive experience from start to finish. Sure the karting of friends about all the time can be a pain but apart from that this is an unparralelled piece of gaming history. And Brucie's in it.

  • The single most immerrsive and terryfiying game I gave ever played. I love it.

  • I know this is the most unloved game in the Zelda series and is again unfashionable to say you like it, but I do like it! The visuals were gorgeous and when the music kicks in, the wind is blowing in your direction and yor skipping accross the Ocean in your icckle boat? Magic!

  • When I was young playing games on my Vic-20 and then Master System. I used to dream of playing this game. Well not this exact game, but when driiving an 8 bit car up and down a one way track I used to dream of stopping the car, getting out and going places. I also wondered what it would be like if I could take a drive or a walk around a virtual City. At the time I could only envision a Star-Wars Arcade style of vector-graphics City. GTA 1 & 2 were nearly there. Driver 1 & 2 were unplayable messes but this, this game blew my mind!

  • Spider-man 2 part 2. Excellent. Gives a real insight into the temptation of Peter Parker and how easy it would be for him to slip to the dark side.

  • Spider-Man 2 part 1. The first ever Spidy game to give you the feel of being the great hero. A full city to sling around with random crimes happening all the time, making you feel like a regular as well as super hero.

  • Magic, pure magic. A comical world filled with colourful people. Loads to do including a gripping main story. Also, I am a boob-man and I dont try to deny it. Therefore when a word is full of big breasted Women as is Albion?? I'm in heaven!!

  • After Vice City this felt very much after the Lord-mayors show. An excellent game in its own right and a down-right crazy experince is to be had here, but after the submlime feast that was Vice-City anything else was gonna seem a little flat.

  • TLAD is depressing and Gay Tony is a camp and totally OTT ride in the vane of San-Andreas. I love the both of them. And Brucie's in it.

  • I was soo hyped for this when it finally came to the Master-System. I poured over every preview I could and was the first ever game I pre-ordered using my hard-earned pocket money. I played this for months and months, I loved the Lego worlds made specially for this version. This was the first of many stratergy games I would eventully play!

  • An excellent yet a little too fast paced version of a stripped-down Civ 4. It brings all the essential goodness of Civ to my 360 yet is easy enough to pick up and play a novice could be building empires within hours. Especial mention goes to Catherine the Great, God damm she is a hottie in this!

  • The fist ever Civ I played. I played in on my good-old PS1, never being into the PC overmuch you see. I found the progress from stone-age to space to be so addictive and complusive I would play it over and oveer on Cheiftan. The real drag about this game cannot be ommitted however. Once you hit the 20th Century the NPC's turns would take on average 5-7 minutes which meant finishing the game over and over would mean bringing along a good book to read whilst awainting your turn.

  • I've included the Colony wars games here and will say the same for them all. PC Quality visuals on the PS1 combined with a tight dog-fighting mechanic made for a top space-based game. The lack of regenerating shields in the 1st game was a bummer as well was final boss that couldnt be beaten without cheating. These games were well ahead of their time, featuring branching story-lines that took you in different directions dependent on your performance. This meant multiple (excellent) movies to watch as welll as endings. The forerunner to todays sandbox games. Why this franchise wasnt taken over to the PS2 will forever remain a mystery to me.

  • When I was very young the Ziar and his battle-fleets knew everything, saw everything, Punished everything!

  • I am Mertons, this is my story.

  • I'm sorry Infinity Ward, your games may be good but this is as good as anything you've done. Give Triyarch a break you arrogant swines! Nazi Zombies and a brutal compaign make this one hell of a way to say goodbye to WW2!

  • Red 5 standing by. The death-star trench and the Hoth Stages are sublime on their own. A big minus for this game is it's toughness. I could never get beyond the clouds of Bespin without, cheating again.

  • I never owned a Nintendo console until the orginal monochrome GB so this was my first every foray into the adventures of Link. An excellent and huge adventure that was Tardis-like in its amazing ability to actually fit on a GB cart. 1st class.

  • The original and best. Activison and Neversoft should spend the next year palying this game endlessly and maybe then they would have half a clue how to make a trully excellent experience.
