But that's completely irrelevant. The Wii is Nintendo's first backwards-compatible console (non-handheld).

...support GCN games/controllers?

If yes...

Good!

If not...

OHMIGOSH! What about GCN controllers for Brawl, Mario Kart, and just as importantly, the virtual console?!
Stupid decision if the next console doesn't support Wii and Gamecube... Because the Gamecube controller is useable with so many things on the Wii..

My experiences with the mods have been pretty good, I've only ever had one thing rejected out of about 20.

Thanks. :]

Not the first time I've seen that, either...
This is definitely a problem, one that we're doing are best to solve as the future rolls in. But you should arguably be more upset if the page you submitted is not added at all, or in your case rejected and then added by another party. The points themselves, take them with a grain of salt. The points really mean nothing beyond those couple of perks you receive for getting them. It's not like your any more or less of a user based on the amount of points you get.
"
All I want is 1000 points so that I can sit down and focus on writing some kickass stuff, without having to worry about it being rejected.

That is exactly what I'm saying. Gosh, it pisses me off. Sure, it gets added.. But why do most people submit? For points. Durr. Everybody knows it doesn't change how awesome you are, but it's a currency that brings a challenge, something to try for.
It's like a video game. It's a see-how-many-points-you-can-get game. It's an intense multiplayer action game. An MMO.

Sure, one of the reasons I'm submitting to the website is because I think that the information should be on here. I have hope for Giant Bomb, and I would like to contribute.
But I would like to greatly contribute.
And I deserve the points.. Not because my life depends on it.. But because that's what should happen; according to how the site is supposed to work. What keeps you coming back to a game? Reply value.

Forums aside, if points are taken out, reply value is gone.
And points were just taken out of me.
Several times. Big time.

It is really stupid, though you have to admit that when you are looking at games and happen to see one without this in it, you add it.

"I understand that all moderators are different, but that means that if I submit something, and it gets rejected, I could just submit it again [the exact same] and have it accepted! That is stupid. That should not happen."
It certainly shouldn't - we have been working without any guidelines, so different moderators accept different things, but as I've said, they're being written and this problem will hopefully be resolved very very soon!

If you honestly believe one of your submissions was rejected in error, please contact one of us directly, or leave a post detailing the problem. We'll make sure to get back to you as to why it was rejected, or ensure it will be accepted if it turns up again - the time it takes to resubmit a single new article is not significant.

The person that submitted JUS got 400 points for adding a load of content - granted, slightly unecessary content but there's nothing we can do about that (being a 1000+ user), not for submitting the actual page.

"
I do honestly believe that.. But while my submissions were rejected, others that submitted the same stuff got accepted. Nobody is going to take that persons points and add it to mine.

Much of the information submitted to the JUS page I had already set out in a text document for when my submission was [supposed] to be accepted. Granted, I had shortened down the information (being the organizer person that I am), because I didn't want it to look like it does now.

What does it look like? It looks like somebody took advantage of their 1000+point advantages and thickened out as much useless information as they could, just for more points.

Not the first time I've seen that, either...

"Seeing as the Wii plays GC games, and has a ton of games dl'able from the Virtual Console,I think playing as much of nintendo's games on their platform is the plan. I doubt they would ever make one backwards compatible.

I have heard recently though(apparently 100% confirmed) nintendo has a new console in the works, idk if its a handheld,or console, but several places have said "a successor to the wii". So I guess we'll just have to see.
"

Well, pretty much all of the biggies start working on (brainstorming is working on...) their next console as soon as the last one releases.
It's the same way how the Zelda or Mario team starts working on a new game as soon as the last one is released. The start brainstorming, reading the players' opinions (hopefully!!), etc..

I hope not! While the Gamecube's was not looked at as a graphically-outstanding platform, it had some of the best games of all time.

Not backwards compatible.

That would suck.

Personally, I'm hoping that Nintendo sticks with the Wii for a lengthy length-of-time. Every one of Nintendos console systems has been very different (N64, GCN, Wii), but I like the Wii. I don't want it to change.

I think that in the future, Nintendo could release graphical/technical updates.. Like the Wii Motion Plus, but perhaps something that you plunk into one/both of the back USB port/s. I'm sure they could figure out how to supply a graphical update through that. Don't say it's impossible. RedOctane managed to turn the DS' GBA output slot into an input slot. It's possible. Don't question it.

I like the Wii. I like how it looks. I like how it feels. Sure, there are some slight problems (like heat), that could be improved upon.. But I don't think it's worth taking the time and the money to produce a new console. The Wii works. By next March it is predicted that fifty million (50,000,000) Wii's will have been sold. A new console would split buyers.

Spoons:

-What if the next Nintendo console didn't play Gamecube games, or even Wii games?

-If/When Nintendo will make another console? Will you buy it? Do you want a new Nintendo console sooner or later?
