Awesome, thanks for all the input, guys! Despite the hellish experience Destiny has been for a lot of the people who've been in it since the beginning, but I'm guessing if I can get it all for $60 after they've done all the patching they can stand, it'll be a pretty good game.

I've been waiting to buy Destiny until I'm pretty sure I'll get most if not all of the content that will ever be released for it. Are there any known plans to continue release DLC after The Taken King, or is Bungie putting a bow on it?

I really don't know much about Tale of Tales or the games they produced, but as an outsider looking in I see this "sunset" as them going out not with a bang, not with a whimper, but with a self-pitying temper tantrum. They failed to make money. That's it. They failed. Not as developers, not as writers, not as programmers, not as artists but as business people, and the games industry is a business no matter what kind of game you're trying to make. I think it's very irrational and childish to blame society, "gamers" (who were very angrily attacked in one of Auriea Harvey's tweets), or "right wing politicians" for their failings. They knew their financial standing every step of the way but decided to continue to drudge on down the same path with reckless abandon (which I'm sure some would like to call "artistic passion"). They dug their own graves by choosing to chase their artistic dreams instead of securing commercial stability. It's not good, it's not bad, it's just reality.

Games will be made art by those who can sell their art, not by those who need their art funded.

No sweat, Austin, whether people agreed or not it was an interesting article about an interesting topic. Keep up the good work; inciting a conversation says a lot about a piece's value, so don't take any disagreements personally :)
