I played through the game my first play through as a quality build and I have to say that quality build is very strong in this game, especially if you use the quality infusion (I ended up with 40/40 in strength and dexterity). I started with the claymore and ended up finishing the game with the black knight greatsword. Strength builds are as always one of the better builds but I found that quality gave you more options in terms of weapons you can use (since you're leveling dexterity and strength) and some pretty great damage on many of the weapons in the game. For a first time playthrough I would definitely recommend melee vs spellcaster. I did my second playthrough as spellcaster and I have to say that the earlier areas are much easier with a melee character. Sorcery and miracles IMO aren't very viable until later parts of the game. Also going pure intelligence/faith builds are not the best way to go and you definitely still want to level a melee weapon even if you are going for sorceries and miracles. Pyromancy is better in terms of viability in the early game. Bottom line if you want the easiest route, definitely either stick with melee build or a hybrid melee/spellcaster.

Voted for the PC version since that's the one I'll be playing on the official release day. Of course I already beat it twice on the Xbone version, playing the English version of the Japanese release. Still I'm looking forward to playing the PC version at 4K and with 60 fps goodness.

Glad that Life is Strange and Bloodborne both made the list. Bloodborne was my GOTY by far and Life is Strange was a great experience despite some highs and lows (especially the ending). I'm a little surprised AC: Syndicate or Halo 5 didn't rank higher but I suppose it's probably due to franchise fatigue, though I felt AC: Syndicate was the best AC since Brotherhood (and I would still be playing it if Uplay hadn't gone and deleted my save).

Even though the real GOTY for me would be Bloodborne by a mile it'll probably be Witcher 3 given its more mainstream appeal.

I wanted to see this movie in IMAX so I ended having to get tickets to a 6 am showing (luckily I'm off on the 18th) which BTW is a crazy time to be showing a movie. I feel like it will be worth it though even though I could have probably seen it at like 10 pm on Thursday if I was just gonna go see the non-IMAX version.

I lived in Minnesota and in Ontario before moving to Texas and I gotta say that as much as I loved snow as a kid, it really sucks when it comes to driving in the snow as well as driving in the ice that it tends to harden into at night. Here in Dallas we rarely get snow more than once a year but when we do it often means treacherous roads and massive school closings. Obviously cities that get snow often are more prepared to deal with it, but still it can problems that outweigh the positives.

I was watching LobosJr give Laurence a shot at NG+7. It looks excruciating and the sheer number of potential attacks always seemed to catch him out. Its kinda putting me off going for the DLC. I like to solo bosses but I'm never one for learning the attacks so being reliably able to bait a number of them seems like the only strategy to go with.

Yeah but Lobos was fighting him fist only in NG+7, he's significantly easier when you're not trying to kill him fist only. Not to say he's an easy boss as my NG+ kill of him took about six tries (all the other DLC bosses took one attempt) and even then it was with no blood vials or bullets remaining.

I enjoyed the Phantom Menace but mostly because of Darth Maul and the quite excellent martial-arts inspired light saber battles it included. I feel like the light saber battles in the subsequent prequels were a let down compared to Phantom Menace.

I quite enjoyed the combat in KoA though as others have mentioned the story and quests aren't all that interesting or engaging. I still ended up play like 70+ hours and finished everything except for the second DLC (kinda got burned out at that point) and while I definitely enjoyed myself to the most part, I also felt like they could have put the same good combat into a much better/interesting world.
