Since my surround setup is in the basement, I may have to finally splurge for a second PS3.  I'm sure the wife will be very pleased with that idea...

If this changes their stance on shutting down online servers for these titles and instead keeping them running then I'm all for it.  Shutting down online servers 18 months after release is a slap in the face, hopefully this perceived added "revenue" will turn that policy around.

Last night I was able to try out some of the new changes released in the R10 patch, and I must say the new Server Browser is fantastic.

The time it takes to do a search is significantly reduced, the columns to filter on (PB vs. no PB, etc) work, and adding a server to your favorites list actually works.

Hopefully they can add a bit to the friends system to add a message with the friend request, since currently all anyone has to go on is just the nickname.

Even with the steep price for some reason I'm thinking I want one of these.  Pretty cheap 3G rate to surf the web without dealing with tunneling / firewalls / web filtering whenever I want.

Anyone else picking one of these up?

Just wanted to get everyone's impressions of the Blur demo.  Played it for a bit and it's best described as Burnout Paradise meets Mario Kart.  And from what I've played so far I like it.

Not originally on my "get" list but just made it on.

With the recent update to FW 3.21 those that reserved space on their PS3s for OtherOS support had a multitude of questions, issues, and decisions to make.  Do I not upgrade my firmware and keep Linux, do I wait for the inevitable Custom Firmware that will be released, do I upgrade and lose that storage capacity reserved for OtherOS (in my case it's 28GB worth of space, no small amount), or do I go through the effort of having to buy external storage to perform a backup / format / restore of my PS3 to reclaim the space, but at a cost of whatever size USB drive I need to accomplish this (I believe 500GB USB drives go for 75-80 dollars).

In my case, I've used this dilemma to catch up on a bunch of 360 games I have, like finally finishing Mass Effect, get up to level 40 in Forza 3, and some other titles.  I wouldn't be so hesitant other than having to shell out the cash for the drive and spend a few hours backing it up, formatting, and restoring in hopes to reclaim the space.  It would have been a great goodwill gesture if Sony released a partition resizing utility to reclaim the space in conjunction with FW 3.21, but as it has come to light, this knee-jerk reaction of panic in fear of the PS3 devolving into what the PSP platform is today was the only thing on Sony's mind.

Anyone else here in the same situation?  Post what steps you've taken with regards to this issue, and thanks for reading!

Well depending on what difficulty, etc. you can just plow through it in a weekend and then trade it in.  Nothing worse than buying a game twice...

I was actually pleasantly surprised with it.  It did take a while to get going, and without any of the backstory you could get lost (There is a database app on the PSN for free to help fill in the history, that may be worth some time looking at it).  Do have some popcorn ready though, since some of the cutscenes are quite long.

Inventory management does suck.  Dealing with that in Borderlands, but the amount of damage per weapon helps you get rid of the non-useful stuff pretty easily.  I like to horde fun weapons in those games, even after their usefulness is gone, and you can't do that in these types of games anymore :/

On the preorder bonus front:  I got hosed in inFamous on my good guy playthrough because of that POS gigawatt blades preorder bonus.  I burned cash on that instead of the original abilities to max out and get the damn trophy.  I wholeheartedly agree on day 1 DLC and DLC on disc being BS.

Zombies are getting a bit tired, why not use werewolves, crazy ass worms like the movie Tremors, and other random demons and "share the love"

The apocalypse games could have  a nice take if say half of it is post-apocalyptic.  You know, nice futuristic city for the first half, *cataclysmic event*, then post-apocalyptic wasteland where you put the pieces back together again... or just give up.
