Move through seemingly open space near the edges of towns or on highways (invisible walls).

I chose the term "scary" over the genre title "horror" for the simple reason that many games are scary for numerous reason. You could say Demon's Souls, Bioshock,and any number of other games are scary. So, I decided I would cover the whole group, rather than just the Silent Hills and Dead Space games of the Horror genre.

For me, it's probably Dead Space 1 & 2. Both members of the series are the scariest games I've ever played, but it was the small things I loved. I loved the psychological storyline, the perfect and responsive controls, the new ideas behind killing enemies (removing the limbs), etc. They're just perfect for being scary, to me. What about you guys? Silent Hill 2? The original F.E.A.R? Remember that any and all games that scared you or kept you in constant suspense count just as much as the official Horror games.

@XII_Sniper:

I was gonna say....sweet baby Jesus, that's an overreaction. Lol, But seriously, CoD and the like are shortening most games. Of course, there are those games like GTA (everything since III), Demon's Souls, the Elder Scrolls games, Infamous, etc. where you can play for 40, 50, 60, or 100's of hours. But most games are still linear and are getting shorter as the years go by. It felt like BF:BC2's story was almost tacked on as a side-piece to the multiplayer...which it was, but the point remains the same.

I recently played the second and third Silent Hill games and I can say only one thing...every time Pyramid Head comes into the fray, you know shit's about to get serious. Absolutely every time I saw him, I couldn't look away and I couldn't help be uncomfortable at the very sight of him. To me, he's the scariest horror game villain ever. Scariest games would still be Dead Space for me, but damned if Pyramid Head isn't tops for character, to me. What about you guys? I'd love to hear everyone else's opinion here.

@FluxWaveZ: I prefer this one. Still has blood on the knuckles and no obvious punching of his own nose. :D

I think it's actually very comfortable. If I have to get all into it, I'd say that it's great when you do it properly. If you allow your testicles to be BELOW the leg you are lifting, you will get no crushing. However, if you just keep your legs together and try to do it, you will break them like they were robin eggs. So, I recommend moving into the ankle-on-knee position, and transitioning to knee-over-knee, for the most optimal position. :)
