Whats great about ti is that they operate like real units, marching in formation, lining up and then blasting each other with muskets. When they get into melee they put away the guns and start shiv-ing each other. It's comedy gold. These guys have a great sense of humour and it seems like the best time!
@drekly: Hell If I saw someone standing on the train tracks in the middle of nowhere I would be tempted to give them a good kick. Trains creep up on you. Even if there is no train in sight when you are crossing / hanging around on the tracks, one can arrive in a matter of seconds.
Too bad he's still in the gene pool. It's beyond stupid to do it on train tracks with earplugs in.
This is sounding oddly Nazi-ish.
I just think some people are better off not breeding, that's not a Nazi ideology but wishing every child to have intelligent parents.
That's very close to Nazi ideology (or at least the dark side of eugenics). You're saying that stupid people shouldn't contaminate the gene pool with their inferior genes. You even use the word "gene pool" in your post!
The psychological trauma that the drivers go through after an accident / suicide on the lines is awful. My mate's Dad has worked on the lines for decades, and he has told us stories before about train drivers who had serious issues for years after they hit someone. They are usually offered early retirement. The mess a train causes when it collides with someone is horrific. Usually the situation is suicide related, but every now and then it is some stupid little shit like the twerp in this video.
This happened not too long ago about a half hour away from where I live. A different situation, and undeniably tragic, but Jesus Christ people NEVER GO NEAR TRAIN TRACKS. NO MATTER WHAT!
Aquaman. It sounds fucking stupid, I know, and someone else already tried it. But that was on the WB or something.
If they took a Dark Knight approach to Aquaman I think it could be cool. The ocean is scary as shit, especially the really deep parts where light doesn't even break the surface. Loneliness could be a major plot point. Maybe he fucks a Mermaid or two. There's a lot of potential there.
I would be all for a dark, fucked up Aquaman. I know that's a bit of a cop-out, considering that's the way all the super-hero movies have gone, but your "Loneliness" comment conjures up images of deep-sea melancholy... that eventually leads to... deep-sea... murder? I dont know. That's the problem with Aquaman. He is kind of lame. He needs a goal of some sort.
I don't wish anything was an HBO show since I don't get HBO & have little interest in anything they produce.
Good thing you let us know, I would have been sweating bullets wondering. I can sleep tonight now, thanks!
I'm just saying that people have this weird boner for all things HBO and it's a little annoying; plenty of other stations are capable of doing what HBO does but no one cares because, well, they're not HBO.
HBO have led everyone else by the scruff of their necks into a new way of producing television. The Sopranos changed everything. Sure, other networks can do what they do, but they don't. They don't because they are not allowed to. Too much interference. HBO is a prime example of what happens when a bunch of smart people decide to let another bunch of smart people do what they want to do.
When the Soprano's pilot was finished, some execs at HBO wanted to drop it. They even suggested re-casting Tony Soprano. That was their main problem. They said Gandolfini was "too ugly" to be the star. But, level heads prevailed and they stuck with their overall vision. That is something that rarely happens at other networks. An example I could think of would be Louie, Louis CK's show. The people at FX don't even know what he is doing. He sends them a finished product and they say "ok" and put it on screen. Louie is a landmark show for them now. There are not a lot of shows that work like that. Usually they are focus-grouped and focus-grouped until they change completely or no longer exist.
I have a serious boner for HBO, and that's because while anyone could produce that content, they are the only ones doing so.
