I had a lot of money to waste so I got a bunch of keys and opened a bunch of crates. I got one of all the strange items and an unusual hat! My highest ranked is my rocket launcher at 361 kills. I believe that its called a "Gore-Splattered Rocket Launcher".

I'm glad they finally added something arguably worth buying keys for, those unusual hats are so rare.

Just found this if you want to see the different rank names.

It sounds like you were just on a server with either bad ping, or the server itself wasn't as good as it should have been. Even with 20 ping, if the server isn't very good, its possible to have some issues like your talking about. Did this happen on multiple servers or just one?

I've been playing a lot of the online for this game and it's been really fun, but it always feels like I am lagging half a second behind everyone else. I don't have this problem with any other game and there is no one else using the internet while I have been playing. It is always most noticeable when i shoot at someone. I will look down the sights and fire, but the hit marker shows up a little later than I think it should and will sometimes show up after I finish firing. Has anyone else experienced this or is it just me?

I was also wondering how to get into both the huge train engineer and the "Line Dude" near the ticket booths. Now that I know more dolls come into the old levels I can finally move on.

OMG YES! I was hoping something like this would happen! Jeff is the best for doing this on his own.

Come to think of it, my Best Buy doesn't have a lot of DS games and the ones that they do look like they have just been thrown on a wall in the back of the game section....

I leave this thread alone for a few hours and come back to see 45 replies. Thanks to everyone who has chimed in, so allow me to clarify my situation exactly.

1. This was a shrink-wrapped "new" copy of Alan Wake.
2. Upon opening the package once I got home it was quite clear that the game was used. (The disk was slightly scratched and the manual was crinkled.)
3. I know not to buy from Gamestop, I was just using up a giftcard that was about to expire.
4. I'm not just saying "OY GIMME FREE DLC!" I'm just asking that, if someone didn't like the game and has an extra card floating around, I've got my hand held high with some hope of actually playing the DLC, as I thoroughly enjoyed my run through of Alan Wake.
5. Though the suggestions of "nut-up and argue your way to victory" are fun, they aren't exactly likely as my attempts to talk with the managers have, thus-far, been less than fruitful.

Thanks again to everyone that replied, and I'll be sure to let everyone know how this fight against a massive conglomerate over a 3 cent piece of cardboard goes.

I bought the game "new" from Gamestop, or so I thought.... The code to download the dlc was absent from the package and it had clearly been used before. Now Gamestop is refusing to accept the trade-in because of the fact that I opened it. They totally screwed me out of my money, and I really loved the game a bunch, so if any Giantbomb user has an extra Alan Wake DLC code lying around, I would really appreciate a PM with the code! Thanks a bunch everyone and have a better holiday season than Gamestop apparently thinks I should have.

Sniping in TF2 can be easy depending on map and your enemies. Like the others said, 2fort is one of the easiest maps to snipe on. I also noticed you got a lot of body shot kills on a lot of scouts. Not saying that is a bad thing, a kill is a kill, but when you are facing some of the heavier classes, sometimes a body shot just won't do it. So given the circumstances, sniping in TF2 can be a cakewalk or extremely difficult to pull off.
BTW I absolutely LOVE the auto-aim video above me. One of the best TF2 frag videos ever made.
