I really want to like this, but that gameplay footage... does not look good. I hope this is still really early, because the pre-rendered trailer had me all kinds of excited.

@babychoochoo: I was assuming that Bran brought his sisters together and explained to them how Littlefinger is trying to play them.

I really like FFXII, but I think they made this remaster WAY too easy. I basically plowed through the game at the 4x speed setting until I was too bored with it to go on.

I'm curious; beyond the issue with the time scale and Benjen being a bit...disposable, what other issues did you have with the episode that weren't addressed in this thread? I went back and looked at some of your posts, and most of them concerned aspects of the Lake Battle. Did you also dislike the Arya/Sansa stuff (seems like most did)? I'm just trying to figure out if the problems you are having are ones that I am simply able to overlook.

I am also not invested in the Jon/Dany romance at all, so that sequence did very little for me and I was kinda bummed they are going into full romance mode.

Why? This romance is absolutely brimming with some of the juiciest storytelling potential in the history of the show. The two noble great heroes fall madly in love(believably in my opinion), then find out they're related and Jon has the better claim, even though her claim is her entire identity. What happens when they find out, how do they both react? What if she gets pregnant magically before then? Then what? There's a massive list of insanely compelling emotions and scenarios to be played out from this that simply don't exist at all if there's no romance. That would be so boring and dumb, it would just be allies vs the Night King. Yawn.

I can't speak for him, but I think what he meant was the actual romance itself. Not the possibilities of where it could lead. We've seen some scenes that solidifies the two as love interests of each other, but I would argue it is being undersold a bit. Like, I can see why one would not buy that they fell in love out of seemingly nowhere.

I do recognize the cave moment, the Drogon approval moment and the knife in the heart moment are powerful scenes to solidify it. But it does feel like it is missing something somewhere to completely hook me into it. It's OK as it is, just wish there was a little bit more to it.

Yeah. This is pretty much my thoughts on it. I am also pretty cynical about the showrunners ability/willingness to do interesting things with Dany, so I don`t have high hopes that they will do interesting things with the romance.

I think the missing element is Jon actually seeming like he is interested in her. Characters keep saying he's checking her out, but it seems like he treats her more or less like he treats everybody else. With no cuts between characters and audio turned off, he could just as well be talking to Davos.

@fredchuckdave: That war-table on Dragonstone suited the purpose just fine for Stannis. Which army figure would be the most unpleasant surprise for Jon? Thank God the Baratheons aren't around anymore, because a stag figure is just too severe.

So what if people don't like you pointing out things they're missing/getting wrong? Do it anyway.

Dan's Quick Look of Metro Redux wasn't helpful to anybody. Wasn't really entertaining either.
