@nevergameover: My take is that there has to be a better way to balance it. Maybe human form opens you up to invasions but is also what lets you summon co-op partners. I'm not saying this remake should have made that change; they were probably right to keep things as they were. You say Dark Souls broke that balance, but I think that's totally fine. People could opt-in to the invasion mechanic if they found that enjoyable, sort of a makeshift "hard mode."
@nordom: Yeah, I'm sure that's true, but everything you described has to do with systems I never touched, and I have to assume the same goes for a lot of other players, if not the majority. I don't know if they should have changed it, I guess it was just a mechanic I hated in the original and seeing it again has stirred up old feelings. I think Dark Souls II also had an HP penalty for dying, and maybe it's not a coincidence that that's the only Souls game I never played.
Would fans have been upset if they'd gotten rid of the HP penalty? I think spending the vast majority of the game with half an HP bar is dumb and bad, but maybe that's just me.
All I can think about when Abby talks about Conan is the time she shamed people (me) for making Carly Rae Jepsen a part of their personality. And you know, I respect it.
@ybbaaabby: Okay! I remember you trying the gamepad and it looked like you started hitting the buttons a lot earlier, but I don't know, only you can know how the timing feels. I just remember getting a new TV and it making this game practically unplayable, so I'm a bit fussy about it. Everyone deserves a pure Rhythm Heaven Fever experience, you know? I know how annoying unsolicited internet advice can be, so I'm sorry and I'll leave it alone. Thanks for the response!
