The nature you give it should depend on how you want to use it, either offensively or more of a support type. so as in example if you wanted an offensive sandshrew then go with an adamant or jolly nature. the everstone needs to be on the parent with that nature to pass it down.
This is the first time i gotten into iv breeding pokemon because it has been made easier this generation. so far i've gotten a perfect protean froakie and a gale wing fletchling. the frokie was a lot harder to breed but it is very satisfying when you finally get it.
@breadfan the destiny knot is used to pass down ivs, 5 out of the 12 the parents have. the everstone is used to pass down nature. the destiny knot can be put on either parent but the everstone must be put on the parent with the desired nature.
