The block-building game Minecraft, which is hugely popular, may soon be made into a film.
Minecraft creator Markus Persson revealed this week that the game's maker was in talks with Warner Brothers about the project.
Persson said he had disclosed the information to stop someone else trying to expose information about it.
Movie news site Deadline said that one of the producers for the Lego Movie is in charge of the project.
Deadline reported that Warner was looking to create a film from an "live-action" version.
Work on the film is at an beginning stage, as Warner has only recently acquired the rights to make use of Minecraft's iconic blocks, characters and monsters.
This announcement comes less than two months after Mojang, Minecraft creator, shut down a Kickstarter campaign to raise funds to create a film that was based on the game.
Film adaptations of top-selling games have a rocky past in Hollywood and a lot of projects never make it past the planning stage.
A movie based in the science-fictional Halo universe, for instance is in development for nearly nine years, but filming has yet start despite several different scripts being written.
Similar films based on Bioshock and Gears of War have been discussed however there is no film that has begun shooting.
