PlayStation Dos Collection
My PS2 collection is quite large. Which shouldn't surprise me, since it is my all-time favorite piece of video game machinery.

Still waiting on Bully 2, Rockstar. I AM STILL WAITING.
Survival Horror Driving. This is the king of the imaginary genre I invented for Burnout 3.
Not as good as Burnout 3, but still awesome.
Not from Criterion, so not as good... but still fun.
I bought this for like a buck. It has never penetrated my PS2's disc drive.
Underrated 3D Castlevania game. Never managed to finish it, though.
A member of my pile of shame, a game I really never got far in. Someday, maybe.
I don't think this game has aged all that well, but it was amazing back in 2001. One of the many games that made PS2 incredible its formative years.
DMC2, not so much.
When I finished this game, I swore it off for a long, long time. I'm too old now for these crazy action games, I think.
Pile of shame member.
I like the shit out of this game, but I stopped playing it to play something else and just totally lost track of it. Someday, I shall play it.
This game singlehandedly kept me from getting depressed about not getting my hands on an Xbox 360 at launch. Peak of the franchise, right here.
I don't worship it like some do, but it was way better than Madden that year.
I bought this cheap, but have never played it.
I break this out on the 4th of July, otherwise it's just kind of a wacky historical thing given its status as a PS2 launch game.
No idea why I purchased this. I think I played it once or twice.
This game basically stopped me from giving up the hobby entirely. Really hoping that PS3/Vita HD remake still exists.
I loved this game way more than I should admit. I played through it like 7 times to see everything it had to offer.
The last truly great Final Fantasy, at least when discussing them in 2012.
No fucking clue where or why I bought this.
Again, what the fuck.
I really, really, really liked this game. It's a real shame the infamous PS3 sequel basically killed the franchise.
Bought this game just because it was somewhat rare and supposedly good. Played about an hour before the main character sapped out my will to live.
This came out right when PS2 started heating up with quality games. GT3 of course being the best of the lot.
A great racer, but I was somewhat disappointed by it. Since then, I've found myself slowly gravitating towards the Forza games.
Well, I mean, it's GTA3. Playing it for the first time was like an awakening.
Of all the GTA games on PS2, my favorite. Best era, best soundtrack, best characters, and an amazing city to cause a ruckus in.
I actually found myself a little overwhelmed by the multiple cities, but it's still a great game. Enjoyed it a lot.
The original innovator of western guitar rhythm games. However, a game that is absolutely terrible in 2012. Bad covers and meh gameplay have long been surpassed by Rock Band. And indeed, the non-Harmonix GH games.
Covers! WHO LOVES COVERS!?!?!? ...oh yeah, nobody.
Covers, covers, covers! At the same time, some originals, and a true guilty pleasure game. It's the only one of the PS2 originals that I can still stand playing.
I really only bought this to have the wireless controller. I don't think I actually touched the game itself, as I own it on a more modern machine.
I wish I still had HH 2004. Also, best baseball franchise of the PS2 era. Fuck MVP and fuck The Show.
A welcome sight during those early PS2 days when all I wanted was a silly golf game.
In my top 10 of all-time PS2 games. I played this game so much that it distracted me from so many other games. And it came out in 2004, which long-time gamers may recall as one of the most packed years ever.
Remember when this was a big thing? And then of course GTA came and they had to sandbox this motherfucker and give some 'tude to Jak.
I do not hold this game in high regard, but I don't have all that much hate towards it either. It simply exists as a bitch-hard game that I played a while, and then stopped when I got bored of dying all the time.
Goddamn. Just... goddamn. This game. I heart Katamari.
I think I got this free as part of a buy 2 get 1. It has never spun in a console of mine.
Liked this game (and Underworld, for that matter) a bunch. I was very sad that they decided to reboot with this new Tomb Raider game.
Bought it cheap, have not played.
Known as Le Mans 24 Hours on PS2. Port of the Dreamcast game. Not as good as the DC rev, but still really fun, even now.
This was the game I bought with my PS2. I'm really only keeping it around for nostalgia purposes.
I guess I forgot to trade this in before 2006 game out.
The last time I bought Madden for PS2. At the time, the Xbox 360 version just wasn't up to snuff yet, so I just stayed with what worked.
I didn't spend much time with this one. Didn't care too much for it.
Controversial opinion alert: the Raiden twist was legendary and epic and I loved it.
Loved this game tremendously.
I only really have this for collector's purposes. I really never played this version of MGS3.
I bought this when I was super into anything with the name "Atlus" on the box. It's still a virgin disc.
A really fun - though difficult - racer that is one of the unsung PS2 launch games.
It's not much to look at now, but holy shit it was amazing back in its day.
One of the first really great post-launch PS2 games. Sunk hours and hours into it.
Like Madden '01, it was the first NCAA game for PS2, and I kept it for nostalgic purposes. And to laugh at how it required half my memory card to run a dynasty. I like to joke that the game cost me 80 bucks since I needed another fucking card. Thank the gaming gods for standard hard drives nowadays.
And like Madden 07, the last time I bought NCAA on PS2. Again, it was way more feature packed than the Xbox 360 version, and thus the better game.
I remember when this was the hottest shit. It's still playable now, but the street racing motif is just so... mid 2000s.
Mediocre game is mediocre. I wish I liked it more.
Razor Callahan, mofos! I actually bought this as a PSN download, which oddly enough was taken down recently, likely because of Criterion's version of Most Wanted.
A weird, weird, weird little JRPG that came out it the late summer of 2001.
The king of my pile of shame. I played it for like an hour, and then life got in the way and I forgot all about it.
Loooooooooooove Outrun. I don't trust Sega to produce a modern take, so this is as good as it gets.
Really dug this game. Some neat ideas and fun characters. Would love to run through it again someday if I have time.
Has never been played.
The weakest of the PS2 Ratchet games, but still really great. Holds up well.
This is how a sequel should be done.
Possibly unpopular opinion: this is the legitimate Resident Evil 4 and the best of all the "retro" RE games.
I remember being upset when they shifted Resident Evil to a more actiony game, but RE4 was still fucking great. In my top 10 of favorite PS2 games.
The shittiest Ridge Racer game, but another launch game that I'm keeping around for nostalgia.
Liked Mark of Kri enough that I bought this. Still have never actually played it, though.
It came out so late in the PS2's life that it flew way under the radar, but it was a fantastic JRPG. I badly wish for a sequel still, even though I know it will never happen.
One of the best JRPG franchises on PS2.
Shadow Hearts 1 was great, but the sequel is incredible. Bummer that the third game was such a downer.
My first exposure to Megaten. A game that I have actually grown to love and appreciate more and more as the years go by. It holds up sooooooooo well.
Great game, but very overlooked due to coming out in 2009, when PS2 was all but faded from the memory of everyone. It's a shame Giant Bomb's Endurance Look of the game didn't go any farther.
This was supposed to be Megaten for the less hardcore Final Fantasy audience. Someday I really really want to give this game (and its direct sequel) a good run.
I was so glad they reprinted this, because it was a sad empty space in my collection. If I ever finish the first one, it will get a very happy spin in my PS2.
This game ruined Japanese RPGs for me, it was so awesome that it made all the others look archaic and dull.
The ultimate edition of one of my favorite games of all time.
Not only is this my favorite PS2 game, but it's also my favorite game of all time. And yes, I was into Persona 4 before Giant Bomb made it cool. I had finished it twice before the Endurance Run even started!
And obscure little offroad racer. Tough as nails.
The peak of the franchise, no doubt.
I finished this one time, and never had the guts to play it again. It terrified me, and very few horror games have actually done that to me.
Fun game. Not much else to say.
Found this cheap at a grocery store. Some fun games to be had.
Where have you gone, Syphon Filter?
This was favorite of the Tales franchise until Vesperia came about. Shitty main character, but it's saved by such a great supporting cast.
A vastly different beast from the Xbox 360 version, making it a worthy double-dip.
The game is pretty shitty now, but it actually competed with GT3 for my racing game time back in '01.
Fantastic and deep racer. Shame it's impossible to fully complete due to some silly bugs.
A bit of a funky and weird game, but I enjoyed it a lot. As a note, the original TXR Drift is not in the database, but... who cares, it's awful. This is a better choice of game.
I sucked so much at this game. But it was incredible for its time.
Bought mostly for collection purposes. Haven't really played it.
This game perplexed me. Wasn't very good at it.
It was better than Katamari Damacy, but still, nothing matched that initial feeling of playing the original game for the first time.
What the fuck, this game. It's the bastard child of the Wip3out franchise.
Another weird buy that makes no sense. I don't even like SNK fighters!
I loved the Xenosaga franchise, even though this was a wordy, busy, cutsceney game with mediocre gameplay.
What a mess. Great story, shitty gameplay.
If only the first game was as high a quality as the third game. We may have seen the back three games that were once promised.
