Abby forgiving EA for their half asses Sims 4 release with extremely expensive add on content is frustrating. she asks "are there microstransactioooooooons?" in most videos, yet she eats the cost of playing the worst sims game yet?

Honestly, I find this easier to stomach than (most) microtransations. This is this money for this content, whereas microtransactions are this money for this, and maybe you'll buy some more in five minutes.

It feels "honest" in a way that most microtransactions do not.

Oh boy, I hope this is the last time they play that racing game...

I ended up skipping it. It's just so boring to watch.

@stordoff: It sounds like you'd prefer the audio version of the Bombcast anyway then.

Not really - I enjoy seeing their reactions, but as part of a wider discussion. It's the out of context cuts to Jan I'm not a fan of. I'd much rather hear what Jan is actually thinking.

Jan cutting back to his confused or knowing looks are always precious and something I very much enjoy about the video versions of the podcasts.

I'm starting to go the other way on them. They feel like they're getting more and more frequent, feel forced, and aren't really adding anything - I'm not here to see their reactions, but for them to actually discuss something. I'd much rather Jan just gets involved in the podcast.

So this was just some crunchy roll promotion? Get Jeff and Dan in so they can show GB audience different anime they can watch on your service? Honestly I thought this would be about Dragon Ball.

Yes... and the entire point was that it _wasn't_ about Dragon Ball. If it was about Dragon Ball, it'd just be another episode of All Systems Goku.

I'm just saying it's a real dumb name haha, and outside of Japan it was released as Metal Gear Solid so we should just call it that, or Metal Gear for the Game Boy, or whatever. But Ghost Babel is like literally nonsense so why bother with it

I mean, Metal Gear Solid is literally nonsense, and it's Metal Gear: GameBoy.

God why does gaming have the absolute worst fanbase in existence. 'Attacking customers" jesus christ so many people ready to defend someone literally losing their job

FWIW, I DIDN'T defend her losing her job.

I used customer as that makes it direct relevant to the company, rather that just randomly lashing out on Twitter, which would be the company grossly overstepping their bounds. It's not intended to imply any sort of entitlement.

"attacking customers"?!

So quick to take the corporate line on this one.

"the next rando asshat", "Since we've got a lot of hurt manfeels today [...] Don't expect me to pretend to like you here." - how else would you describe it? You can say she had a reason to justify what she did, and that the ArenaNet response was disproportionate, but attacking customers is what she did. Taking the corporate line would be saying that ArenaNet were right to do what they did

A developer is not a PR person and she was on her personal twitter account. This is why unionization is needed, to stop companies from abuses like these.

If you're talking about your work, and attacking customers, it doesn't really matter where you do it. If you're talking about your work in a public space, the company are going to have a say.

We don't know her disciplinary history, so I'm going to refrain from saying if she should have been fired. If it was a one-off event, maybe her being fired was excessive (though I can see it being construed as gross misconduct). If she has been warned about it before, maybe it was entirely justified.

I'm not sure that I agree with calling Division 2 political because of the setting. There is a very good reason for setting it there - it shows that the _country_ has gone to hell--the centre of power has collapsed. That doesn't make the game inherently political.

Now if you want to say the language used in the trailer was political I'd agree with you, but I think saying the game isn't political is fine.
