I finished this when it first came out and I thought it was a pretty solid adventure game, but the action bits were pretty weak. I enjoyed it fine but I was kind of miffed at the initial steam steam store page suggesting it was episode one of a three part series, but was later edited to obfuscate that. \

If a user from the first few years of twitter checked it today it would be allegorical to planet of the apes. If this bullshit makes a single thing obvious it's that the perpetually churning circle jerk of twitter is a worthless place to make commentary. Might as well post on /b/.

Maybe I'm a heartless piece of shit but I think anyone that tries to use twitter as a protest platform and gets burned is an idiot for throwing shit in the infinite monkey house.

Back to fucking reality: I'm happy to see some more staff in the joint; I can only imagine how exhausting it must have been with the recent skeleton crew. I've got your back GiantBomb; you are a real place in an increasingly phony world.

I use this occasionally for third person shooters (like Watchdogs) when I want better manual accuracy for a shooting or turret section. I've known it to be used effectively by a few people in the competitive BF scene but I've never considered that myself.

The quicklook for this looked like a bit of dumb fun so I thought I'd check it out. Turns out the first act is pretty ok, and then HO-LEE-SHIT! this game takes one of the sharpest dives into the depths of unfathomable badness I have ever seen. My review is up here http://www.giantbomb.com/bound-by-flame/3030-41791/user-reviews/2200-27348

Read it or not, you have been warned....

Just played through Burial at Sea episode 2, which was a sight better than the first one, which is good. But there's some retconning in there which is so bluntly reactionary to a particular bit of public opinion that all of my internal organs facepalmed. Spoilers below.

When you're crawling through a vent in the beginning of the Columbia section of the episode and encounter the Luteces in discussion with Daisy Fitzroy, about how she needs to fabricate going senselessly violent, wanting to kill Fink's son and rendering the whole 'angry black woman' popular controversie just an act. Plus an audio log and some other bits which apply the same desperate 180 degree turn to the character.

What an obvious load of pandering horse shit. I was pretty well on the fence when it came to whether they should have changed the Mass Effect 3 ending, but that was at least controversialy bad, not just controversial. It is meritous to add to a character or piece of narative after the fact, but the forced backpeddling nature of this puts it into Han Solo shot first territory for me. Gameplay can and should be tweaked by popular feedback; but narative is authorship and the public should not piss in that pool. That is what Facebook is for.

One argument for this could be it was all some elaborate play by the developers from the beginning. If so, colour me entrirely fooled.

Mouse and keyboard. When shooters without auto-aim are concerned, pads effectively have a hard cap on aim speed and precision. A comparably skilled player with a tuned up mouse will allways snap the headshot first; allways. Additonally, mouse-look gives the player a much looser and faster ability to scan the peripheral environment while moving, which hugely improves the coefficient of deaths to unseen foes and kills on guys you happened to spot.

Get this though: I know a guy from the comp Battlefield scene who holds an X360 pad in his left hand for movement and equipment switching and a mouse in his right for aiming. Sounds nuts, but the guy did some serious business with that setup.
