I have Super Metroid for the SNES (along with a CRT) and for Virtual Console (along with an HDTV) and I've never played the damn game. I'm going to get started in a few days but I'm not sure which version to play. On one side I like the authenticity of having the SNES controller in my hands and playing on the real hardware, but on the other, VC games look so crisp on my HDTV and while not perfect, the Pro controller is really comfortable, more so than the SNES controller.

Which would you go for?

You make some really valid points. I concur I think Jeff is great as a secondary guy, it's his whole attitude that works so well for that. I think Dan would be a great host. They made a great move putting Brad as the podcast host, he's really shined since he took over, and that's not to say I would mind Jeff continuing to host he does a good enough job but Dan would work out well on the live shows IMO.

This really makes no fucking sense. Even with Kojima leaving Konami (probably because they won't let him make anything other than a MGS game) why would they remove his name from the game, I mean he still helped make the game. Senselessly tasteless by Konami. I hope Kojma makes something kick ass and I hope Konami relearns how to be a video game company.

Yup, agreed, I want to know how Nintendo responds to the reception the Wii U got with the NX.

This is actually a thing I've been going through also. At first I bought a ton of games on VC but as we know there are a bunch of obscure games that won't ever make it to VC. So I decided to buy a Super Retro Trio and then I fell down the rabbit hole. After discovering how bad these games look on my HDTV I did some research and found a free Sony Trinitron on Craigslist. Now my games look great on the CRT. But still. Not as good as VC games. I'm playing through Super Metroid right now on both consoles to see which I prefer to follow through with.

Still haven't decided. But being that games like Earthbound are SUPER expensive on eBay, and how good Super Metroid looks on VC. I might find myself buying games carts for collecting reasons but playing them on VC when available.

Also, since I've gone so far as to get an actual CRT For my gaming I'm going to be getting a working SNES and Genesis on eBay soon.

I'm down for this.

Friday: I picked up Diablo Reaper of Souls for the PS4 so my wife and I will be giving that a go tonight.

Saturday: Well plans changed from what we were going to do so now it's a bit up in the air.

Sunday: Same here, we were going to be in NJ but the car broke down and now we'll probably be huddled indoors trying to keep warm. Winter in NY is a horror show. Probably have some drinks at home and play more Reaper of Souls and Dragon Age Inquisition.

That all sounds like a good deal, except if you trade in your old 3DS you won't have it around to transfer your data over to the new one. Which sort of sucks.
