This game is *fine*.

Everything about it feels very safe. And while the writing is clever, it's clever in a relentlessly-self-referential way that wore thin pretty fast for me. Finding the toads isn't particularly difficult or fun. The puzzle battles grow tiresome after a couple of hours of no change in the mechanics.

This game doesn't do anything wrong. It just doesn't do enough and plays it safe. Don't think I'll finish this one. I am slowly losing interest each time I come back to it.

Oh, also, the constant interruptions from Olivia to point out obvious story beats or simply explain what to do are extremely irritating. We get it, Nintendo, you make games for children. Believe it not, even children do not need everything explained to them every 2 minutes. My only wish is Nintendo include an "I am not a 7-year-old" toggle in their future games.

I thought TLOU2 was compelling, in that it kept me engaged and coming back. But in the end, when I thought about everything that happened, how the characters developed, where the story went, I felt manipulated, and not in like a clever emotional way.

Naughty Dog says they don't want to make games that are fun, first and foremost. Fine. They want engagement. Problem is, this game is engaging for superficial reasons. It's engaging because the story constantly baits and teases you with revelations that never come. It's engaging because it's a technical marvel and the graphics and tech are enrapturing (this isn't bad in itself, but it's superficial). It's not engaging emotionally. It's not engaging because you're attached to the characters. It's not engaging because the gameplay is consistently evolving and developing.

It's weird. Because I enjoyed playing it. But the more I think about, the more I think it actually is a Bad Game. That's the funny thing about video games. They can get their hooks in you, engage you, but it functions more like an addiction than genuine emotional engagement.

I'm always googling "good Mass Effect legs," too, if you know what I mean.

The Library is a fine level. Don't understand why it's so derided. It's a level that encourages forward momentum because of the constant enemies. You fight less enemies if you just plow forward. Move forward and shoot! I even think it's kind of fun.

This looks amazing. It's basically fixing most of the problems I had with Doom 2016. More variety, a bit more cartoonish, just more "fun." Really looking forward to this.

But I have to ask, who actually thinks this level of motion blur looks good? It's a freakin' smear. Hopefully you can turn it off on console. I believe you could in the original.

I think these discussions were fine. I'm glad there's less pointless grandstanding for people's pet games, and they everyone had a more easygoing approach to it. It doesn't matter. These awards do not matter. No awards matter.

That said, this feels like a somewhat weak showing from GOTY in general. I usually skim through the deliberations, so think there should have been more group videos and one-off events. Shouldn't have gotten rid of the wackier categories. Ultimately, this site provides more than enough content in general. But I think they missed the mark a bit here.

Fine/10. Some of y'all need to really chill. And if some of you are on Reddit, acting the same way, and I've *SEENT IT*, y'all need to REALLY CHILL.

Now I don't know what Ninjago is, either.
