" @Suicrat: "any legitimacy in deciding what another person can do with their own property"  Where do you actually come from? A government, no matter whether its Switzerland, or the Chilean leader on Easter Island, has all the right to decide what anyone does with their property. If i built a house, and painted a huge mural with an old man ass raping a chicken, then the government would order that I take it down. It doesnt matter if you paid every last penny for it...you gotta do what the Man says my friend.   And dude dont get me wrong im all for Arabs and Islam...its just these things are how they are. "
Yes, and this thread is criticising one of the things for how they are, particularily an absence of property rights, so what's your point?

@Bombs_Away: But Switzerland isn't a single entity. It's not like when your mind wants one thing but your lungs want another thing and your mind gets to choose because it's the "head" of your being. Nations are nothing more than groups of individuals. Regardless of what political Islamic regimes do in Islamic states, nothing about a ballot contains any legitimacy in deciding what another person can do with their own property. The opposite approach undermines any claim to a right to criticize Islamic regimes for enforcing their ideas within their borders.

Of all the games I've played, I think Shadow of the Colossus is the most artistic game. In my opinion, the world of SOTC is an interactive canvas.
That is exactly what I thought upon reading through this thread. I mean. That game has a very different feel. Not to mention the story being kinda dark and twisted, which is often liked in the artsy circles. I wouldn't consider game as a form of media art though. Just as I don't see movies as art in the same caliber as a photo for example. But it's all content, of course. "
Wait, what's the difference between one photograph and hundreds of thousands of photographs? How could 1 photograph be art but hundreds of thousands not be art?

" @extremeradical: Oh yeah, I forgot about the most basic of human rights: "The right to build large towers representing religious beliefs." It's in the UN Human Rights Council's charter, right? From my understanding, minarets are used for calls to prayer and to signify a Muslim culture. Now, I have no problem with calling people to pray. As long as it doesn't override the normal sounds in the city, that's fine. According to Wiki stats, there are about three hundred thousand Muslims in Switzerland, 4% of the eight million population. I fail to see how that's enough close to enough saturation to claim another people's land as your own. And I find it really telling about the type of person YOU are that you read over my short post and jumped to such a drastic conclusion. "
IF YOU BOUGHT THE LAND IT IS YOUR OWN, FUCK WHETHER OR NOT YOU SHARE THE SAME SKIN TONE, LANGUAGE, OR FLAG AS THE PEOPLE AROUND YOU. Xenophobia will get you nowhere.

Yes, I don't doubt that, but my actions will still have been coercive either way. What I did is not changed retroactively by their approval. I'm just saying this because you said that it will not have been an act of coercion if they approve of it, which I simply do not think is the case. "
No, they won't be coercive either way. Coercion isn't inherent in anything, aside from the threat of the violation of another person's will. If a person is glad you did something for them post facto, they will not issue a charge against you that is coercive. In other words, the only way to figure out whether you're coercing against someone isn't to consult me, but to consult them.

@Manatassi: Dude, you're talking to Suicrat here. If anything, if an effort is profitable, it is even more artistic from my perspective.

Indeed. It's not the medium that defines whether something is art, it's the effect.
