So it seems like more and more people are moving from the "Obama is a godsend who's going to make massive changes and fix our country" side to the more sensible "He's a politician like any other- of coarse he's going to lie to get elected" side.
On his second full day in office, President Obama signed an executive order to close the prison within a year. Today, the date that the prison was to have been closed, the facility remains open.
While this doesn't surprise me (closing Gitmo is a tough thing to do), it does bug me how it was promises like this that got the man elected, and he hasn't fulfilled most of them. I mean, it's seeming more and more like George W. Bush and Barack Obama share the same goals: to Close Gitmo Eventually. What are your feelings?
What about "Nintendo have Wii's in 25 Million homes nationwide, and yet only push 2 million copies of NSMBW at launch. Mario is Nintendo's mascot, and he's got a new game. But Nintendo don't have the FAITH in their own console to mass produce enough discs to fill the shelves.I hate the way they artificially create the illusion that they couldn't produce enough discs. Consoles are one thing, but there's nothing easier and cheaper than mass producing discs.
It seems that cartoons were much better when I was growing up. I'm not sure if there truly is a declining quality, or if it's just the nostalgia talking, but I can't even fathom enjoying most of the new cartoons out on these networks today. In my eyes, both networks were fucking awesome in the day, but which one do YOU think was better?
Nickelodeon had shows like Rocko's Modern Life, The Ren and Stimpy Show, and Aaahh!!! Real Monsters to name a few. Cartoon Network had Dexters Laboratory, Johnny Bravo, and Powerpuff Girls, for example. It also had all that anime. Although there are many, many more quality shows back then. Which shows were your favorite?
So, I'm getting a new Netbook for Christmas. It's an HP Mini 110. I haven't gotten it yet, so I guess my question will be answered for sure in a few weeks, but I'd like to know now. (It won't be my main computer for WoW, but I'd like to carry it around when I travel.)
The BestBuy had a store model set up (I'm ordering mine online, but it's the same computer). I went to the Can You Run It website, and choose Wrath of the Lich King. The result: Failure.
Why? Well, everyone was up to snuff, and then some. The only thing that was a 'failure' was the video card. Even then, 2/3 requirements were checked. The only thing that was missing was "Hardware T&L." requirement.
Now, if any of you have computer experience, I'd like your input. If I install WoW on this computer, and the Hardware Texture & Lighting isn't up to snuff, what should I expect? Will it run at all, or just be dumbed down? Thanks in advance.
" I see nothing wrong with it. They tried to make a statement, and support the "Dedicated servers" move. As most of them expected, nothing happened anyway. "
Yeah, but I think "We're going to bitch about how you choose to structure your game, but we're going to buy it anyway" is an awful statement to make.
No, not because it's dangerous, but because I don't really need it, and don't really care if I get the flu. (In fact, I'd welcome a few days off work in front of my computer screen.)
