I watched Once Upon a Time in Mexico yesterday. It was the first time I had seen it since it originally came out in 2003. I remember at the time that I thought the movie was pretty awesome, like in a 7.5/10 kind of way. But rewatching it yesterday, it was definitely a lowered 6/10. It was still good, but not as good as I recalled. And maybe I just forgot, but the Mariachi seems hardly the main character even though he's central to the trilogy. This entry seemed more like Johnny Depp's character's movie. The movie spends more time with the side characters than they do with Mariachi. It made the whole story feel disjointed.

You're one of the reasons I started following Giant Bomb over a year ago, so this sucks, but wishing you all the best!

Much like with bad movies, I used to finish all games that I started, good or bad. I just wanted to see them to completion. But in recent years, as free time became more limited, I really had to cutback on games that I just wasn't enjoying (recent ones I can think of is LA Noir, Castlevania: Lord of Shadows, Diablo III). I may come back to LA Noir and give it a second chance, but as I'm getting older I find my time to waste (on bad games or movies) is becoming less.

I admire their effort in this first outing. There are some issues that they should address (i.e. sound issues and pacing), otherwise, it came off very professional, so hats off to Keighley and crew. The content of the show itself left something to be desired though. The show is half about making exciting announcements and half about awarding winners. None of the announcements they made seemed particularly captivating or engaging. Perhaps because the few that seemed interesting, were short teasers, so we couldn't tell what they're about. I didn't have a problem with DA winning game of the year, but when they announced the nominees, to me it seemed like a clear reflection of the infantile stages that the current generation is in. Great blowaway titles will come, but it just wasn't this year.
