I hope Apple doesn't go the way Microsoft went when Bill Gates left the ship to Steve Ballmer.

Didn't MS just announce porfits of like $6 billion for the last quarter? I'd say they're doing pretty well.

True, but the company lacks direction under Ballmer. The Kin was a failure, Windows Phone 7 is stagnant,  Microsoft Surface was canned, Zune isn't all to popular, and Kinect is going nowhere.

I think they're over-reacting to the HP news. Sure there are people who find a tablet does everything the want a computer to do, but those people are still a small enough group to not take over all of the PC market. Businesses will still Microsoft's Office sweet for enterprise needs, photo/video editors will still use Photo Shop and Final Cut. Programmers will still use Unix and other IDEs to code. And I'm sure many writers still prefer a physical to write their articles.

Until a $600 tablet is just a useful as a $600 laptop, people will still want a fully featured PC. I will day however the low-end desktop market is as good as dead, for consumers at least. Offices will still buy hundreds of Dell desktops to fill their grids of cubicles.

Amazon and Steam. Forever and always. I haven't bought a game from anywhere else in a long time. Hell, I even buy my PSN games through the Amazon store because I trust Amazon with my CC more than Sony.

Also, this is an incredibly stupid move by Gamestop. They seek to gain nothing but bad press from doing this.

If you install it on the 360, the load times are about 4 seconds faster. Other than that and the achievement bug you mentioned, they're identical.

I'm glad Sony doesn't have the same policy otherwise I wouldn't have been able to play Braid, Limbo or Castle Crashers.

Buy a good bike lock and a coffee maker. That's everything I've bought so far.

I'm a going into my 3rd semesters(2 semesters c++, 1 java) of programming and I haven't even gotten out of the console/terminal yet. This next semester I can't do a programming class because I need to take Discrete Math first(my junior college didn't have this course).

The big change for me going into a 4-year school using Unix. I have very little experience with Unix and now I'm being expect to know it on my own time. Hopefully, I'll find someone to guide me.

I'm glad to hear that you still enjoy it though. I can relate to the joy of making something work after thinking it has impossible to do hours before. I am, however, kinda crestfallen that I won't be able to use all the calculus and linear algebra I had to learn for my major.

@Surkov: I know exactly what goes into theories I'm not stupid, I wouldnt just say these things without knowing about what a theory is. You still are just stating facts about how theories are made that dont contradict anything I'm saying in any way.

Scientists have no right to be self righteous, they only observe and use logic to determine what may or may not be true but then in turn anyone can look at that information and from their own ideas, so just because they did the research doesnt mean they have more right than anyone else to observe it and give an opinion on it.

Also logic is first and foremost in everything. Logic is what makes us humans and what makes us more intelligent than other creatures. Science is simply the product of logic and its how we use logic to further our knowledge and understanding. Scientists are constantly defying logic for no other reason than to make themselves seem smart and try to understand things they have no right to even try to understand because chances are everything they think in these areas is false because we dont have access to get the adequate way to achieve enough accurate information to even assume the most basic of things.

1. Yes, it does make scientist more deserving of an opinion if they have done research on the phenomena they are observing. Why you might ask? Because they actually have a context for what it is they are observing. By the logic you have just demonstrated, I should go to friend for all of my medical aliments. Since my friend can observe the same symptoms and read the same tests as a doctor, his opinion should be just as valid as a doctor's. Never mind that the doctor went to medical school and has done research in the medical field because his opinion is tantamount to my friend's since they both observed the same problems.

2. I really hope you don't honestly think scientists research and conceptualize these theories just to appear smarter than everyone else.  The reason scientists seem to defy logic is because you don't have an understanding of what it is they're doing. It defies your logic. As far as you're concern science is just magic, and it is to every one who has no knowledge in a given field.

You are, if your mini bio is to be believed, a 19 year-old film student. Of course, it will seem like science defies logic. The first thing you learn in physics all objects fall at the same rate. The class always calls bullshit and then the teacher goes outside and drops a bowling ball and tenis ball from a second story building, and by the laws of physics, they reach the ground at the same time.

Science is about letting go of your since of logic because often your brain's intuition is wrong. You can only believe what you can observe and reproduce. We have thousands of equations and theories to prove why the earth does what it does, you just need to go find them.
