GTA4: Despite being the highest reviewed game of this generation on metacritic and gamerankings, whenever the game is brought up in conversation on internet forums (as well as with some people I spoken to about it in person) people just start to get all violent about it, complaining about how much they hated the shift in tone as well as stripping down most of the mechanics from San Andreas, and I really enjoyed it's shift in tone and found the characters to be much more likable than before, but w/e, point is that I love GTA4, but apparently I'm in the minority along with most video games critics.

justin, that was literally the exact same thing i came into this thread to write.
ignoring the critical acclaim, people bash the shit out of this game on the internet, which i just can't do. i still play gta iv constantly to this day. something about it.
I don't understand why novels are so popular. Nonfiction books seem like the only books worth reading imo.
that's no different than saying " i don't understand why video-games are so popular/why movies are so popular.". it's a form of entertainment to get lost in. simple.
