so im in america,and its the first time ive been here,i live in okinawa japan and have only been to mainland japan so i am very exited about this,so oceanside san diego is lame but i have things to do here(family stuff) so i wanted some advice on what the must do things are over here.

You're in San Diego, go to the beach. Comic Con will be starting this weekend, so stop by there if you'll be in San Diego this weekend. Tickets are sold out, but maybe you can get a pass from someone who's going home and will not be using their badge. Also go and visit Sea World.

Heh, heh.  Comic-con will have American cosplayers.  That's certain to be an eye-opener.  Also, since you are in southern California, take a trip to see an amusement park.  Disney Land and Knott's Berry Farm (better for coasters) are located between San Diego and LA.  For something in San Diego, there is Sea World and the SD Zoo.

Downtown San Diego will be a mob scene due to Comic Con.  Trying to get in will be generally futile unless you can buy a pass off of someone going home which will be unlikely for Friday or Saturday (the two most important days), I bet you could get in Sunday no problem, but there isn't much going on that day either.
 
Oceanside isn't really that close to downtown SD though anyhow.  I totally recommend checking out a shady looking mexican joint and getting the best burrito of your life.  Hit the sand and the waves for sure.
 
There are tons of trails and hiking to be done along the beaches and cliffs in La Jolla if you are into that.  Some great views and picture taking there.

The thing with America is that there's so much shit to do that there's really no standard procedure of tourist travels like "visit the Eiffel Tower" or something.

This thread would be better if you were talking about how you took a  crap in america.  Which I did last night.  Not a good story though, yours would probably be better.

Gosh, it's been so long since I've been to San Diego. There really isn't a huge agenda, but I recommend that you visit the beach and go to see the San Diego Padres play some baseball. Heck, if you're going to be there for a few months, maybe try and see the San Diego Chargers play some American Football.
