Great Lesser-Known Indie Games

I like playing indie games. About once a month I stay up until five in the morning devouring as many as I can.
Here's some of the ones you might not've heard of.

Apologies if you have.

List items

  • This game is probably going to be somewhere around my #3 game for 2011, I think. It's really quite excellent.

  • Haiku review time: / Great story told awesomely / That's all I can say

  • While each game is flawed in its own way, the whole series is pretty cool, even when its head is stuck so far up its ass that it forgets to breathe.

  • If you've never played a work of interactive fiction before, this is the one to try. A beautiful story told expertly through a unique medium.

  • The best roguelike I've ever played, personally, I think. Take all the awesomeness from fucking DOOM (without resorting to spoken word or, at least, bold-and-italicized text [Giant Bomb's list system lets me do neither], I cannot emphasize the phrase "fucking DOOM" enough) and all of the turn-based fuck-graphics-we-have-ASCII-characters-and-sixteen-colors traditionalness of the roguelike genre, and you get the most excellent time-waster I've discovered this year.
