You guys don't think there will ever be an implementation of 3D that provides some kind of substantial benefit? Maybe some way to mitigate the health concerns? I see the current wave of 3D stuff as kind of faddish and I don't really understand what the 3D is supposed to contribute to the experience exactly but augmented reality game concepts have been floating around forever and I was thinking 3D might improve that experience in some way.

Maybe not, and I have to wrack my brain to figure out how this stuff could turn out to be really revolutionary or amazing, but 3D just "feels" like something that's supposed to be important or futuristic. I'd give it a decade to wait and see if it sticks around this time.

I'm super impressed by the success of MK9. When I heard they were going to do a series reboot I thought it was going to bomb, like they were going to mess it up in some way, but I suppose there's still a ton of talent ready to work on an old series like that. They've even succeeded in wooing the competitive esports community. I may follow Evo this year just to see what people say about MK9.

I always thought Castlevania 1 was one of the big reasons why the "Nintendo Hard" stereotype exists. It's a really tough game. I like hard games but... hard platformers always make me ragequit. I got to level 5 ONE TIME and it kicked my keester back to 8th gen noobville where it apparently belongs.
