In the end, I think regular consumers will make their decision playing the consoles at store kiosks and checking out the launch line ups. Personally, I wouldn't be surprised if the Xbox cleans ups this holiday despite the price. Regular people don't care about the politics and the launch lineup for the Xbox is pretty impressive.
@hashbrowns: It definitely seems like the vocal majority Of gamers are working hard to talk over the people that thought the Xbox One was actually a cool looking piece of kit. And they continue to be loud now even when it seems they got what they wanted from Microsoft.
It has been nearly impossible to discuss the Xbox One without being trolled for no good reason. PS fans are definitely an arrogant bunch.
So is ok now to come out and say that I'm excited for the new Xbox? Seriously, I don't care what other people do, but I'm crazy excited about Dead Rising 3, TitanFall, and future Halo's. I was going to buy the system anyway because I don't ever buy used games or take my console places where there isn't internet. This is great news. Why can't we all just be happy about it?
I've been thinking about this a lot lately, especially with all the noise about the new consoles. But part of me thinks its really dumb that people got excited about Sonys announcement that it would allow used games and the sale of used games as long as developers allowed it.
I find that increasingly everything is just going into the direction of being completely digital anyway, so why fight this? Eventually all games will be downloaded and stored completely eliminating the practice of reselling or buying boxed copies of games. Why not get to that future sooner than later?
It's like when the US switched to digital broadcasting and forced everyone to either buy new TVs or get conversion boxes. Maybe all of us just need to get to being connected already.
@reisz: Did you know that the MS Surface Pro has wacom tech baked into it? The guy from Penny Arcade got one for review and then immediately bought one afterwards because he loved it so much. I think they only go for $800 which in comparison to a $2000 cintiq is pretty great. I've thought about that one as well.
@reisz: It's great. Personally I think it has zero lag. The only problem I've encountered has been a couple moments where it just randomly disconnected. I'm not sure if that's because of the pen or the limited processing power of the iPad mini. But I've always been of the mindset of " make due with what you've got". Cintiqs are stupid expensive. This pen was $60 and fits in my bag letting me digitally paint anywhere.
@maajin: Yup. It's a pogo connect. I used an app called procreate. Zero lag and is smart enough to know when it's the pen and when it's your fingers for pinching and zooming. Love it so far.
A lot of people complain about buying old games as why they're opposed to a ban on used game sales, but do you guys do that often? Personally, I have bought a few old nes cartridge games, but I've never gone back to my GameCube and thought about buying games for that, that I didn't already buy during the time I had it. I plan on keeping my wii and 360 for the same reasons because I've bought the games I wanted for them and don't really see a reason to browse their market of games after they've been retired.
