GOTY 2020

List items

  • Resident evil remakes are great, keep them coming.

  • The most original, stylish, and intriguing game of this year. Could be number 1 if not for the bugs at launch.

  • Best surprise of this year apart Othercide, I love a game that gives me a good cry.

  • Best 2019 game of 2020. I already played this game in Japanese but I played it again in English (with Japanese voices of course) this year. I love everything about it, its graphics (2D forever), its story, its structure, everything. The only thing I don't like and don't understand is the PlayStation exclusivity.

  • It's not a good year without a souls-like. Unfortunately, it's not as good as the first one. The character creator is top-notch but I can't say the same for the story and the systems. And the end is so bad.

  • Probably one of the best gamepass game. I would never have tried this game if not for gamepass. I'm not convinced by the humor and the first-person perspective but overall a good adventure game.

  • I'd say it's the best Xbox exclusive this year. The art is incredibly beautiful and the story really nice.

  • I'm not convinced it's a 2020 game but it's such an important game that I have to put it on my list. Probably what I like the most is the minimalist art that proves once again that a great game doesn't mean graphic fidelity (I'm looking at you TLOU2).

  • My favourite open-world game of this year. It's not perfect but I had a good time playing it. My main gripe with this game is the voice acting and the animation which are, let's say, not great. It looks like an unfinished product.

  • Not bad for a roguelike. I've spent 40 hours that I appreciated enough but after that, it felt like work and I think the last levels are unfair and didn't like them (from Elysium forward). Unlike the rest of the world, I didn't find the writing great and the voice acting was grating to say the least, but that's just me.

  • Last finished game this year. I liked it a lot. I love souls-like and it’s an interesting one.
