Seeing this thread is how I found out. I hate this. His humour and energy were an exact match for the site, and played well off each other member of the staff just as well. I've particularly enjoyed seeing more of Ben and Vinny (sometimes with Jan) and I will miss all of his input and enthusiasm on the site tremendously. I don't have an upbeat end to this. Best wishes for the future, @benpack

As an Extreme fan (mainly the not More Than Words stuff) and occasional guitarist/singer it's great to see Vinny play and that he's actually good, as I've only heard him talk about it in passing, and to hear Brad "voice of an angel" Shoemaker of course ;)

After reading the sentiments of some of the people in this thread -- Jesus.

And people wonder why most content creators burn out after 3-5 years.

Honestly, I'd be wondering just how much value the forum still held these days if I worked here and read *another* thread like this.

Personally seeing a mostly old school team go from a familiar office/studio setup to entire home-based with as much success as they have has been a pleasant surprise and I think benefitting those who've stuck with them as premium through these... urgh... unprecedented times... isn't a terrible way to balance the output. That said, now processes are more established, some constructive feedback on what we'd like to see is probably a good idea at this time. Personally I've really enjoyed... I was about to start listing team-ups, either same or cross coast, and realised it was always Vinny + someone. They really should clone Vinny.

Googling gaming podcasts to replace GFW Radio (and some others I don't remember - anyone remember an unofficial EvE Online podcast by two guys, one of whom ended up writing for CCP, which completely escapes me now?) shaped hole.

I'm waiting. I'm glad for the people who are getting through it, and the people who find more bugs than any game they've ever played but are OK with that. But I don't feel like rewarding that with money.

@humanity: Agreed. It does feel to me as if the trappings of AC are there to justify being a member of the franchise but they're only minimally interested in it actually being part of that world. I guess if you're playing those notes for the sake of appearance, the hood is an easier visual win.

I'm starting to think I want an Assassin's Creed game that's mainly about lighting braziers and burning away cobwebs with a torch. It's a compulsion.

This game doesn't have mercenaries hunting you and interrupting what could be a perfect stealthy run through an enemy base, does it? Asking for a friend.

It does, unless you destroy a piece of paper with your name written on it that's really easy to get to right after they introduce this game's version of those guys. I guess they put in a contrived in-game option to turn that off.
