I am going to hop on the bandwagon here and do what everyone else on this site does: blog just for the hell of blogging because I haven't done it in a while. I am going to start off with what couple of movies I have just watched over the past couple of months and talk about those for a minute.
I watched the movie Quantum of Solace, while it wasn't as good as Casino Royal is, it still had some awesome hard boiled Bond action that tickled my fancy.
Bond and his lady friend make a lovely couple,she doesn't mind him blowing stuff up or killing people.The ending isn't as strong as Casino Royal's either,but its all about revenge,ya know?
This dude just isn't my cup of tea.I have also watched the movie Slumdog Millionaire,I must be missing something because I don't understand why this movie won Best Picture.It was good,but not that good.
I hope I let the right vampire movie into my instant netflix que.The movie I plan on watching is Let The Right One In,the movie has received lots of praise,and everyone is calling it the best vampire movie ever made.Which I hope is true,because for some reason I have been looking for just that one awesome vampire movie that is deserving of my time.So I hope it is good,I am very happy that Netflix has added this movie to there Instant Watch list,yeah!!!!
Now lets cut the chit chat of all these movies and get down to gaming business.I have broken my rule,I am not playing one game at a time like I usually do but 2!Make that 3 :0!
Sight seeing is nice,but..........Whenever my roommate isn't playing Fallout 3,usually when he is in bed or at work,is when i get my Fallout fix.I love the game!There is to much good and bad about it that I can't fit it into one paragraph.I also like the idea that moral choices have an impact on the gameplay.This is a sight that never gets old.
I am glad that my roommate doesn't greet me this way when I get home from work.I am also playing RE5 right now too,and damn is the game good!I am playing the game on Normal so that I can get jewels and have my weapons upgraded to the max before I even think about playing on Veteran.Also,interactive cut scenes make there glories return.
I mentioned in another blog that my pc blew up on me about 2 months ago.I have been digging around and looking at rebuilding my pc entirely from scratch,all from newegg.com.This is going to cost me roughly $900,I think it is all the hardware that I need.Let me know what you think about this setup I want to build.
I have been happy with the purchase of both a MSI motherboard and the Corsair ram.I used an ATI video card in the computer but I am switching over to GeForce now.I had a hard time with choosing the harddrive,But I decided upon the Samsung 1TB,see the cart for details on that.I also thought that this would be the perfect time to upgrade from Windows XP to Vista.So Giantbomb,put your thoughts into the hardware I am almost ready to purchase!
To begin with,a little over a month ago my home computer blew up on me.Both the video card and my motherboard are toast,The ram is also gone,so with my upcoming tax return I plan on rebuilding the beast so it can last me another 5-6 years,I am currently borrowing a 7 year old HP computer from my sister for the time being.This is where I need your help at,I do plan on using it for gaming,so feel free to recommend me some gaming hardware to be able to run Crysis at high settings.
I have been dealing with some family issues over the past month also,my sister,who is only 20,wants to marry her 30 year old boyfriend when they have only been dating for about 3 weeks now.I gave her counseling,but she isn't listening.This guy is a complete creep,he has a kid and an ex-gf that left him.If she marries him,this is what HE gets. 1.He gets his rent cut in half(the guy is cheap,he lives in an apartment) 2.He gets someone to watch his kid for him while he is off having fun. 3.He gets someone to do dirty work for him while he goes out and has more fun. 4.He has someone to have sex with when he feels like it.
My sister doesn't see this,God help her when she does.
As for my own life,work is going bad for me,they have already cut my hourly wage down and are threatening my full-time status,all for some bull-shit reasons,I should call corporate on my bosses asses,but I don't feel like dealing with it.I work 4am shifts for them,over night shifts and even working 8+days straight for them every other week and yet they still hammer on me with stuff that doesn't even have to do with work.
Sorry for the wall of text,to sum it down,my life sucks right now,and I need help rebuilding my computer.
To begin with,I have Diabetes Type 1 and have had it for almost 12 years now,but today i had the worst and most terrifying experiance with this damn disease.I only know what happend by hearing what the firemen told me and what my best friend and roommate told me what happend.I have had the first day off today in over 8+days so I decided to hang out with my dudes today and take advantage of my free time,we apparantly went to Subway for lunch and I got up to go to the bathroom but as I was told I instead bolted and ran out for the back door,which according to my friend after having a convo with the manager,was supposed to be locked.My 2 friends said they spent a good hour searching for me until they finally decided to call 911.I woke up and gained concuisness in the back of an ambulance on a stretcher,my face hurt like hell and I had absolutely no idea why I was there.They were finally able to get me back onto my feet,I walked out and found my 4 closest friends waiting patiently and scared on the bench outside of a resturaunt on the other side of the street where we originaly were parked at.The firemen told me my bloodsugar level was below 25,they finally got it back into normal range 30 minutes later at about 120.
I just felt like sharing this to know if any of you giantbombers have gone through this before if you share my same disease,so go ahead and discuss,here is a pic of the aftermath:
When I was at work tonight,I found a few interesting stolen objects that made me laugh out loud.Now I would usually be really pissed about something like this because most shop-lifters tend to sneek in at about 10pm and are there for a good hour or so,but they were smart enough to not do the obvious.
The items he stole consisted of 2 beers from a 6-pack of Rolling Rock,a box of Trojan Condoms,A Spongebob Toy,and have a bag of balloons.Its odd,but really funny at the same time.
20th Century Fox is bringing the Japanese anime TV series Cowboy Bebop to the big screen, with Keanu Reeves attached to star as a bounty hunter traveling through space in 2071, confirms The Hollywood Reporter.
One of the big titles in anime, "Bebop" is set in a time where "astral gates" make interstellar travel possible. Humanity, decimated by a lunar explosion resulting from a gate accident, spread out across the solar system, as did crime, which gave rise to the use of bounty hunters.
Reeves would play Spike Spiegel, a bounty hunter and former member of a crime syndicate. Spiegel, along with Jet Black, a fellow bounty hunter and former cop, are the two pilots of the spaceship Bebop.
Peter Craig is writing the script.
The show, which first aired on Tokyo TV and satcaster Wowow during the late 1990s, was strongly influenced by American music, even featuring action sequences -- both space battles and mano a mano -- timed to U.S. melodies.
Sunrise president Kenji Uchida, the TV series' director of animation, Shinichiro Watanabe, and series writer Keiko Nobumoto will serve as associate producers. Series producer Masahiko Minami will serve as production consultant.
Children of Men was one of the best science fiction movies released in years when it was released back in 2007.The critics liked it,regular movie goers liked it(as I did myself),it may not have been a summer Blockbuster movie or a Box Office smash hit,but it was one of the grittiest,most intense sci-fi movies to come out in a long time.It has some good acting and dialog between Clive Owen amd Jullian Moore,which I must admit,she has been lacking a good role for quite some time now,so this is easily one of her best performances in the past couple of years.The action is amazing in the movie,there are some countless awesome camera work that really pulled you in.
There is some fantastic camera work in the film,including this.
Some may complain about the movie being depressing,which is true for the most part.It is also very sad,I caught myself almost crying 2 times in the movie,which does not happen very often.
This is one of those moments where it is very hard not to shed a tear.
It is one of those movies that everyone needs to see at least once,it is definitely worh a look.Even if you aren't interested in the subject of the movie.
I have a couple of people that i work with at the day job whenever there day is not going very well they just bitch until your ears are bleeding.Tonight was one of those nights when my crew was ready to go home at about 11:15pm but she wasn't done yet.So I decide to play the nice guy and give her a hand,she was furious! I continue to help her any ways so we could all go home and enjoy the day off tommorrow.I listened to her bitch about how she hates her job and how she wants to quit and how she hope she gets her "new job" on Wednesday.I left her with the rest of her stuff to do herself after listening to her for almost an hour and my God do my ears hurt.I just hate people like that,not to mention that I didn't even get a thank you :|.
