THPS4 is so good, it was challenging, had good levels, and the goal-based structure was refreshing at the time. My favorite one when I was a kid (besides THUG1). Plus, the spine transfer is part of the mechanics in the first remake pack, so why not if they do 3? Never understood Jeff's distaste for it, but the idea of skipping it altogether and going straight to THUG is craaaaazy.
You've always been the industry's secret weapon with the write-ups this time of year, but obviously this one was going to be a little different. I'll never be the sort of person to share this openly online, but I'm really glad that eloquent and honest people like you exist to turn unbearable turmoil into some sort of therapy that benefits others.
Thanks for the read, hope you are as well as you can be.
Miss you on the Beastcast, man. You brought a nice perspective that complimented the regular crew's quite nicely. Reminds me of better times, to be honest. Enjoyed the list, great read!
Regarding Cyberpunk's localization to English, I think it may have been a more authentic and more interesting choice to actually set the game in Poland (or some future-DMZ-city that was once Poland) and still make a compelling, urban cyberpunk game.
I love the game and Night City looks incredible, but they could have avoided so much awkwardness and made the setting potentially more unique if they actually set it in their neck of the woods. It's much easier to get past odd dialogue if it's obvious the game is both made and set somewhere that doesn't speak English. I don't know, just a thought that's occurred to me since the later trailers that leaned so heavily on affecting garish "American" bombast and not exactly getting it right.
Would love to see how Nioh 2 does... not a Sony game but still an exclusive, wonder if they will do any work on it. Wasn't thinking about getting a PS5 year one for a number of reasons, but if the only game I ever play anymore gets 60fps resolution mode then I would have to start reconsidering.
