I have said it before. Unrestrained fast travel would ruin this game. It is necessary for the way the game handles risk and tension. Not only do you need to complete the dungeon, you have to make sure you have enough resources to make it back alive. It is fantastic.
@TentPole: @JasonR86: so i think what im trying to ask is can you like a game you dont like playing. and i dont mean you like it because you understand its a good game.
I thought you meant that Schindler's List is a great movie that haunts you and gets you thinking, but it's not necessarily fun to watch and stomach casually... is that what you mean?
If this is what you mean then it is not a fucking stupid question and the answer is no.
But in the world of film Antichrist is a movie I love but have trouble watching.

His wording is poor, but I think he's more referring to games that you can appreciate, but can't really be enjoyed. One can appreciate the tone and artfulness of Schindler's List, but the subject matter makes it incredibly difficult to actually enjoy.
That is what I thought when I said Skyrim and he said that was not it. Unless you mean a game that is too upsetting to enjoy because of content and not mechanics.
@TentPole: @JasonR86: i'm not really talking about games that you cant get in to, but games that you play and beat, dont like and understand that its a good games.
That is exactly what I meant when I said Skyrim. Played for 50 hours. Asked myself what the hell I was doing because I was not enjoying it at all. Never want to play it again, but recognize that it is objectively a pretty good game.
