I want one of the characters to be completely fucking insane and seeing shit that isn't there, and that's the reason split-screen isn't there. Like, just imagine playing as Isaac and the other dude just unloads on a fucking chair for absolutely no reason but he's freaking out because he thinks he's being dragged by a tentacle.

Also the game to be good, but hey that's too much to ask from EA.

That's a batshit insane idea and I love it. His condition would have to really deteriorate over time too. That would be crazy in the best possible way.

You could do a lot of things with it too, especially if they chose not to correlate the actions completely. So on one dude's screen he'd be running like a bat out of hell because he thinks there's an air leak and his oxygen is counting down, but the other player doesn't see anything wrong because in reality everything's fine. Or one player could experience a gravity failure and start jumping off walls, but to the other player they're just spinning in the fetal position, shooting at the ceiling.

Yeah, there's a bug in there concerning how it read some of your decisions unfortunately. It also doesn't register the choices you meant to make, either, as I can distinctly remember Kenny referencing that I apparently sided with Larry to abandon Duck. Fortunately that only occurred in Episode 1, but it's still a shame to see that such a bug still exists after all this time.

Kenny is not a bug.

You think it is, but then the rest of the season happens and you realize it isn't.

It's always all or nothing with patrick, you know how it is. It's impossible for him just to say "I don't like stealth" instead of bashing an entire genre.

I replayed Splinter Cell just the other day and it was totally awesome in every way. I also played Mark of the Ninja and it was also totally awesome. I like the challenge of finding the best route without being caught, some people don't and I understand that too.

I don't like when stealth is simplified to the point of ridiculousness for example gaining a skill that makes you invisible for a few seconds when you get spotted (Deus Ex or Dishonored had that....I can't remember). If the stealth genre is just going to go in this direction then fuck it I'll replay older games until a fucking kickstarter or some shit brings back "the old stealth games you remember"...

Alpha Protocol had the "oh shit you got spotted, here's 3 free seconds" skill.

Batman had the best concept of stealth where it didn't make you feel weak if you got caught, you still were the most powerful guy in the room in most cases. But Batman don't like guns. I think the biggest problem the guys have with stealth is this feeling of weakness, and perhaps instant fail scenarios

You have to feel weak when exposed. Otherwise you're just playing Assassin's Creed.

Man, remember when that series was considered to be stealth and not just a hack and slash?

DotA 2 is a better game, if only by virtue of "champions" not being deliberately imbalanced and thrown into ranked so people throw 10 bucks at each of them.

Yeah, all 108 (well, 90ish right now) heroes for free. That's what happens when you're not beholden to a predatory Chinese company.

You have 60-70 hours to grow attached to Nanako. As such, the attachment has time to grow naturally, even if the "you will love this fucking character god dammit" is being laid on PRETTY THICK.

Telltale did much the same thing with Clementine, except they only had 8-10 hours with her. So they laid it on so thick that you can get diabetes just looking at her for too long.

I'm excited in that I want to see how badly it's jacked.

Sort of like watching a train wreck, 8 years in the making.

Alex' Busted-Ass Game Emporium.

A modern art exhibit, really. An obelisk for millenia to come that says "what were these people fucking thinking".

Because other than sarcastic headlines that's all I know.

Syndicate getting on the list because Jeff liked it was ridiculous.

Also is XCOM really that good? Should I play it?

XCOM is great the first time through.

And the second time.

...that's about it.
